Plain like yogurt. You can also add frozen berries and cottage cheese in a food processor and make fresh high protein low fat ice cream, if you need to sweeten it a litle add honey. I also add 1 part cottage cheese to 1 part berry yogurt and it tastes like berry cheese cake.0

I want to like cottage cheese... anything to do for the texture?0

I LOVE cottage cheese, I eat it plain right outta the container , unless I'm doing a plan then I scoop it out like a proper person would do. I eat it with any kind of fruit, fav is mandarin oranges or pineapple . I'm old school like that.:ohwell:
But when I think about it most of the time I eat it plain, standing at the kitchen counter. Couple of spoons and I'm good ta go.
Might have to broaden my horizons and try some of the more exotic combos I see here.0 -
bananas, sprinkle of Dash of Flax and a drizzle of honey. mmmmmmmmmm0

I love cottage cheese!
I eat it with:
strawberries
or blueberries
or peaches
or raspberries
or crackers (whole grain of course)
or pita bread
or on a bagel (whole grain of course)
or by itself with pepper
or mixed with onions and garlic
my husband mixes it with cereal (an organic flake cereal similar to Special K) - I havent tried this but he eats it everyday
my daughter (she is 9) eats it with ham on toast (sandwich) with sliced cucumbers.
Good luck!0 -

** You can also make a meal out of it with tuna and big tomato slices-- add a hard-boiled egg and you are proteined-up!!!0 -

You can blend it up in a food processor until smooth like thick yogurt0 -
I like it mixed with steel cut oats in the morning for breakfast...0
-
I love cottage cheese plain, or just about ALL of the above-mentioned ways too! My favorite though? Protein pancakes! ....and they are so easy, low fat, and high in protein--of course!
1/2 c. cottage cheese (I use 2%)
1/2 c. egg whites (approx. 4 egg whites)
1/2 c. rolled oats
1 heaping tsp. baking powder
dash cinnamon (optional)
dash vanilla (optional)
Blend all together in blender. Cook like regular pancakes, and top with frozen blueberries, thawed in the microwave in their own juices with maybe a little NATURAL sweetener like honey or Xylitol (my personal favorite because it's low carb), and smart beat non-fat squeeze butter, and a little natural peanut butter. Wow!!0 -
wow never knew there were that many things to do with cottage cheese. I have never had it so will probably need to add it to my shopping list for this weekend.0

Friendship brand sells it already whipped. It's more like a spread and has a much smoother texture. (1% milkfat)0 -

-
Boohoo! I love Friendship brand, but can't find where I live now.0

You can try Yogurt in it for protein and carb combo. Also applebutter or cinnamin gives it some flavor. Yogurt is my favorite!!!0
