I'm off on my holidays tomorrow, can any of you lovely people recommend some books for me? Preferably available on Kindle, but all recommendations gratefully received :happy:

    What genre's do you normally like to read? My taste runs more towards the horror genre so those are pretty much all I could recommend.

    I read pretty much anything. I loved the Hunger Games Trilogy, but I also love biographies, trashy chick lit, as well as Sci Fi and a good novel. My tastes are pretty broad. I'm all ears re the horror stuff, what do you recommend? :flowerforyou:

    For a biography that's also horror related, Unmasked which is the life story of Kane Hodder (the man who played Jason in more Friday the 13th's than any other...ranges from the tragedy of his burn accident to the pranks that he pulls on costars on the set of the movies)....some of my favorite authors would be Douglas Clegg, Clive Barker, Barbara Michaels, if you like Stephen King books check out Heart Shaped Box or Horns by Joe Hill (he's Stephen King's son using a different last name).

    Thanks for the suggestion, but I've been put off by so many people saying how crappily it's been written. I *did* download 50 Shades of Red, White and Blue on Kindle. It's a spoof written in the Northern Irish vernacular, so I'm guessing nobody but the Northern Irish would find it funny! It is filthy as fck but absolutely hilarious. The lead character is called Maggie Muff. A muff is, well, I'll not say what it is slang for here, but you can guess...:laugh:

    I am currently reading 'Gone Girl' by Gillian Flynn. I love it.

    I love Clive Barker so much I wrote my University dissertation on him!!!! (and got a first for it <highest mark>). My dissertation title was "Clive Barker, Feminist Writer?". I must have read Imagica at leasdt half a dozen times.

    I LOVE LOVE LOVED The Time Traveler's Wife, but I'm afraid to see the film in case it is a load of old pants :cry: I must have re-read Memoirs of a Geisha more than half a dozen times too, it's so beautifully written

    Cheers for the suggestion, my mum and Dad were big fans and have most things he's written, must nick one for my travels!

    I"m a little biased in these two books as they are both Hispanic authors, but I've read many books...these are some personal all-time favorites...the one by Villasenor is absolutely beautiful...will take you on a trip. Through the years, this has been my go to gift for those that enjoy a good read:
