I bike about four days and climb the other two. I've done alot of research on heart rate because mine is high. I doesn't mean much to have a higher heart rate. What really matters is how long to take to recover. Here's a link if anyone is interested knowing more about Heart Rates.

Age: 56
Weight: 200
Height: 6' 1.5"
Resting HR: 45
How many days: Basically every day until I feel I need a day off--avg maybe 3 days off a month
What do I do? Cardio 20-60 min, rotating between cross trainer, stairclimber and running on treadmill, with different intensity combinations; strength training 2x week on average, again cycling through different combos of exercises, weights, sets, etc.
Max HR achieved: In the last year that I have been exercising regularly, I have hit 152-155 at the end of some long, "performance" cardio efforts. HR normally averages 125-135. Both max and avg HR are significantly lower than 10 years ago.0
