After having a baby in March of 2011 and gaining 30 pounds, I decided to change my life and not only take off the weight that I gained but to keep going and to get where I've always wanted to be. I'm 5'3 and my starting weight was 166. So far I've lost 26 pounds.

Here is a pic of me at 166

My goal weight is 130. I don't want to go too low because I don't want to lose my curves. Does anyone have advice on how to tone up the lower belly? That is my problem area since I've had the baby.

Thanks for the compliment and I know there are several of these feeds already posted, however the last one I looked at has 17 pages and I don't have time to look through 17 pages of posts.

Great work thus far! However as to your "how to tone your lower belly" question, I'll give the unpopular answer.

There are two things: Fat Loss and Muscle Growth. That's it, there is no "toning". Fat loss is what people call tend to refer to as toning because they start to see their muscles more. To "tone" your lower belly, you've got to drop more weight, it's just that simple.

Now don't forget, weight loss isn't going to happen overnight so you can keep on your same track and if you get to a point where you're happy with how your look, then just maintain that look. If you get to a point where you start to see your curves disappear and you don't like that, then you know where to stop or where you want to get back up to. It's just that simple.

You've done a great job so far, keep it up and you'll be there in no time!

Well, look through as many as you have time for. There's usually plenty of inspirational stories and pics on each page in the numerous threads.

Here is a link with some lower ab exercises. Pilates tends to be great for the core as well. And, always remember kiegles are actually good for the lower abs as well, and you can do them anywhere :) - although, these are not "noticeable" ones, however they definitely help to strengthen.

Best of luck! You have worked hard and it shows! You look fantastic!!!! :D
