when you first feel it coming on...do a VERY vigorous work out and load up on Vitamin C.

If it's slight, I'll still go. I can't count the number of times lifting has made me feel better

If I have a cold, I typically work through it. If I have the flu, I rest.

It all depends on what your body tells you. If you are sick, but still motivated enough to get out and do it, then you might actually end up feeling better. However, there are times when my body says 'Tiff, it's time to sleep this off'.

    Hope you feel better, though!
  • I have been under the weather and I've worked out, but I think it is better to take the day off and make up the day tomorrow. I don't have the same drive working out while under the weather.

Something at home maybe? Without the germs at the gym

Bad idea. If you have a fever, you're probably contagious, and

    1. you should rest & feel better first, and

    2. nobody wants to catch whatever you have.

I'm biased though. I have no spleen, so I have a weaker immune system than most, and I'm especially susceptible to bacteria & infections.

Skip the work out, get your fluids and your rest. If you push it, you could end up worse - trust me, I have been there!

Above the neck work out at 20%
Below the neck stay at home no work out

    Fever wait till it breaks

Great idea!!! Whenever I'm feeling sick, I hit the gym to sweat it out. Maybe its psychological, but I always feel better and recover faster!

Terrible idea. You will spread your sick germs there for others to catch whatever you have.

If you really want to do *something* just simply go for a leiurely walk outside in the fresh air.

when I feel a cold coming on... I'll typically try to push out a hard paced run... It seems to work the virus through faster. I have also found that when I have a crazy sinus cold (where I cannot breathe through my nose) that if I do a run, or some stairs, it clears me up quickly... at least for a while. :)

If you are sneezy and coughy, I'd stay away from the gym, but still find a way to exercise. I've heard, if it's in your head, you're good to go... if it's in your chest or gut... rest it out.
