So I have been at a plateau for about a year. Yes, a year! So I went down to eating 1200 calories for 4 months. That didn't work so I went up to 1300 calories. That didn't work either. After 4 months of that I went to 1400 calories. It's been 4 months and that isn't working either.

I workout 5-6 times a week and am fairly active. I eat healthy and once a month I do go over my calories by 200 calories but I do not know what is going on. Why I cannot seem to lose weight. I am 5'1 and 170. I am more on the muscular side. I have tried eating my calories back and not eating them back. I have changed my workout routines every 6-12 weeks depending on boredom and if it becomes too easy.

Any advice. Please do not tell me to check my thyroid because it is fine. And the reason I do not have my diary viewable is because too many people were telling me I was "eating too many vegetables and can cause hormones to go crazy" and that I "should be eating no more than 800 calories" so my diary is permanently private for those reasons.

Barring a medical problem you should be losing weight if your diet and exercise is as tight as you are saying. You need to speak to a nutritionist or a physician.

Do you use a food scale? Also, are you drinking water and watching your sodium?
  • I do not use a food scale. I so make 95% of my own meals. They consist of mostly vegetables, legumes and once or twice a week I have 4 oz of chicken. I do have gastroparesis but nobody has been able to tell me if that is causing my problems. I was told it was temporary and would go away and that was back in 2009.

Nutritionist always tell me to "eat more wheat" and being a celiac I have to laugh at their ignorance.

You talk about being celiac, maybe eating other grains that are gluten-free would help? Just brainstorming.
