Question for people with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Hello all.
I've had RA since 1996. Unfortunately, RA has held me back from doing many things I used to. However, since losing some weight, I'm gaining my strength and courage to perhaps try things I miss. One thing is riding a bike. I've tried riding spin bikes at the gym and they kill my knees. I've tried riding my sons bike and I lose my balance and again, it kills me knees. Someone suggested a bike with wider tires?
If anyone has RA out there and can perhaps suggest a great bike, please fill me in.
Thanks for the input!

I'm afraid I have no idea. I went cycling for the first time on a borrowed bike club bike yesterday. My knees are fine but my bum hurts!
I hope someone can help you. I shall watch the topic with interest.0
