Why am I such an emotional eater?
For Breakfast this morning.... I WAY OVER DID IT!
LOOK at my numbers! Now I have like 600 calories for the rest of the day and no fat, I am over my limit for that!

 You don't suck!
So you had a bad morning - it happens :flowerforyou: Do the best you can the rest of today & start fresh tomorrow.0 -
no problem just eat a great big salad full of vegtables a smart dressing and that will cost you less than 100 calories. Then you have 500 left for dinner and snack. Think of it this way you had to eat the calories at some point today you just did the work early this morning.0

This journey is a challenge so we will encounter hurdles from time to time. The important thing is to refocus and stay positive. As Jstar513 said, "it happens". What you need to do now is work on not let it happen again. If you beat yourself up, you will just find that you will begint to slide down that slippery slope!
You can do it!0 -
Well, look at the bright side at least you overdid it in the morning so you have time to get rid of some of the excess, go out for an extra long walk, or put on a favorite cd and dance to it for 15-20 minutes. Now that should wipe out a few hundred calories and give you back some of the leeway you lost.:flowerforyou:0

Piece of cake. This stuff happens, try not to do it too often, but it's no biggie.0 -
First of all, you dont suck!
Second, it is not too late to undo this. Plan time for extra exercise today, and plan healthy meals. A great lunch would be something I had for breakfast this morning.. two slices of light toast with 3 egg whites, a touch of diced peppers and onions, and some salsa, made a sandwich out of it... very filling, and around 150 calories, and tasty too. Depending on the bread you use, might be slightly higher, but still very reasonable and healthy... then dinner, as they suggested, a large salad, light/smart dressing, lots of veggies...
Just think, if this was easy everyone would be doing it! It isnt easy, and you wont be perfect every day. Certainly do not beat yourself up about it, but at the same time dont use the excuse that its only one day... because that one day can SO EASILY turn into another, and another. It is early.. make a point to do something proactive to keep on track. today.. and if you do, at the end of the day you will turn this sick feeling into a really good feeling of accomplishment, and right before the weekend to boot!
Good luck to you!0 -
Listen to the posters above. Stop beating yourself up! This is life and sometimes we go overboard but that doesn't mean that has to define who we are or how we reach our goals. Just hit the reset button and do your best for the rest of the day. If you go over your calories a bit, who cares? It happens. We're human. :flowerforyou:0

We are all human, and sometimes go overboard. Don't beat yourself up over it. Just do better the rest of the day. I know how hard it is to have time for yourself with small kids, or take the time to make yourself a healthy meal when your cooking for the kids. Just take it easy, you don't suck - and remember we are all out here for each other.0

You know where you stand at this point - which you have to admit is a point you were not at, this time last year. Think about it - before you started on this journey, you would have gone overboard, but not even know it. Now, you have the tools and that little voice inside your head telling you, so you are ahead of the game. Now you just have to listen to that voice (what I'm learning to do)
As stated by others, make a note of it (you did) and now move on.
You're doing great!!!0 -
i do the same thing sometimes... I know it is such an emotional binge. I wish I could stop, but I know the stresses of my everyday life just catch up with me in a major way. I work nights but try not to eat during that time because I know if I do I will definitely go over my calories. Well the other morning I came home and ate my cereal (1 cup + 1 cup of low cal almond milk)... felt good but was back in the fridge in less than 10 minutes and I spied the leftover hamburgers that my husband had made. What did I do? I ate both of them complete with the big buns and munster cheese my lovely husband adorned them with. You would think that would be enough, but no I went back and poured another huge bowl (3 cups) of cereal along with milk.
I went to sleep stuffed and felt awful when I woke up. I wasn't hungry for anything, So I went to work and started my day off the next day only about 500 calories over my limit.
I am back on track again.... which is what you have to do. Don't dwell on it. My 500 calorie overage, yes it was all at one time, which I know can't be good. But it's not gonna kill me, I am at a deficit of 500 calories every day in order to lose 2 lbs a week. So I pretty much just ate what I needed to, in order to maintain my weight. The biggest thing I am doing is being honest with myself and everyone on here and have made my diary public. I log everything I eat with the exception of my water (I forget), diet soda and lettuce.0 -

I agree. I have small kids also so I know how hard it is to get in exercise but try to do a little extra today. Park far away and walk, take the stairs, PLAY WITH THE KIDS! That is a big one for me. Make a game of it. I play "race mommy" and they run and try to pass me up. I don't let them win (most of the time they win anyway) but run my hardest and try to not let them pass me. You would be shocked at how much you can do without a "workout". Don't skip your meals today, but plan on moving a little more and start again in the morning knowing more about what you should do! Don't let this day kill your motivation. You will only get there if you keep it up and keep on try 'n.
