Calories Burned?

QUESTION?! ... My go to exercise when I'm feeling BLAH is walking @ 2.5mph for 60 minutes.
It's not a huge deal, but I just have a general question.
When I log this information into MFP, it estimates how many calories I've burned.
(I've been using what my treadmill says, b/c it says I burned fewer, therefore I'm less likely to overeat, etc, etc)
Is there any way to actually determine how many calories someone has burned off? (factoring weight, etc)
Any info. is appreciated

I use this site with a grain of salt.

Heart rate monitor is your best bet if your looking for "actual" calories burned. I agree with you tat MFP is high on the calories burned guesstimate.0

I figured it was a bit high, hence why I'm taking the lower estimate of zee treadmill.
I'd rather think i burned 200 ... and if it's more, than BONUSit'll be a surprise at week's end haha

Im told the best way to go is a heart rate monitor but if you dont have one you can try these 2 sites and see if they fit you more since they go off weight, age and height etc. http://www.mapmyride.com/tools/calculators (scroll past bmi to calories burned and enter your info) or http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calories_burned.htm.. I forget the site i used but i know for my height, weight and age i burn 11.3 calories a min when exercising so i just used that. Its usually under what MFP estimates and i'd rather be under then over in calories!0
