I did it at 30 as my birthday present to myself. I was at a healthy weight and post children. I will say this- make sure you are at the weight you want to be. don't go up more than a cup and a half or so, if you want to look natural and not like a porn star.

When I gained wight, mine got HUGE. So now, I am 2 cups sizes bigger than what I purchased and when I lose all the weight, I am sure the surgery will have been for naught.

Just a word of warning. I loved it when I did it. did wonders for my self image, but because of weight gain, I am no longer happy with them. Thinking about a reduction actually, when I reach my goal weight. Tough to say what they will look like then.

This happened to someone I know and when she lost the weight, they went back to being really nice (like after the surgery) There is hope!

Depending on your size, most surgeons will give a small implant when they do a lift.
I don't have implants, nor do I want them right now, but I am all for them if it makes you feel good and you have the money!

My mom did it after she lost 100 pounds (she went back to the same size boobs she had when she was 250 pounds, which I think look a little too big now, but whatever). She's very happy with how it looks and since she didn't go bigger, just filled them out, it was pretty painless for her, too.
Honestly, whatever makes you happy. It's your body and your choice!

Bump for later. Been thinking about it since I have lost most of mine w/ the weight loss. Just seem a little 'deflated', but still point forward, lol

Curious to know why you're asking? Are you looking for advice based on your current appearance, or whether people would "judge" you, or whether people who have had it done think it was worth it....?

    I guess I am I am SELFISH!

I will not have any sort of elective surgery. I have heard too many horror stories that includes death. My biggest fear is that my husband has to explain to everyone that "I am dead because I wanted BIG boobs". :noway: :noway: :noway:

Best thing I have ever done for myself!

    ^^This.

Just remember they do not last forever, they will need to be replaced after about 10 years.

If they aren't "perky" implants won't lift them, you may have to consider a lift as well, if they are only deflated (at the top of the breast) they will fill that area up and look natural. Do your research, see before/after photos and call past clients if you can.

Having a breast lift is one of my rewards for when I lose all of my weight. If it is what will make you happy, go for it. Do not listen to anyone but your self

I love mine! I had them done in March. It was money well spent - worth every penny! I finished having kids and lost 50 pounds and considered it my reward. I give, give, give as a mom, a wife, and a nurse, and I deserved to do something for myself. It is amazing to feel sexy again!

I hate breast implants, but only because they make my spectacular natural ones look less impressive.

    Do what makes you happy.

I plan to get mine done one day, after they're all sad after having kids. If it makes you feel good, go for it! Just do a lot of research on your doctor...

I thought about it seriously for a while. I am a small b after my 3 kids. And not a nice shape or perky at all.

Then I realized! I can wear good padded bras, I look pretty athletic and the way clothes fit with smaller boobs is naturally slimming? Not many people see me in the naked way (if my husband wants to judge me for that he better hope I don't start critisizing back). My skinny dipping days ended long ago and....

If I want to spend that kind of money I would buy myself a boat, or vacation, or truck, or better camper, or part of my kids college in a few years. So many ways to spend that money!

I liked this response a lot. I'm currently dealing with breast deflation and it's taken a wicked bite out of my ego. The girls were a 32DD and are dropping now to a 32C. It's hard not to gain back the 10lbs I worked so hard for to have the boobs back.

Thanks for making it seem less disastrous.

I got a breast augmentation almost a year ago. I was never happy with what I had. I ended up going from a C to a full D. I am happy I did them. I went with silicone and under the muscle which is my opinion is the way to go. The scars are minimal, but the recovery was the hardest part for me. You can't do any strenous exercise for about 8 weeks, then you can do light exercise. Keep in mind that the implants are place high up and over a few months to a couple years, they have to drop into place. I had to be careful with running because the gravity could make them settle uneven. But now I run no problem. I say if it makes you happy, do it! Feel free to ask me any questions about it.

Not sure how my opinion will be received, but I'm all about trying (at least for myself) to accept our bodies exactly as they are. I can't say I have achieved that and to be perfectly honest I would love a tummy tuck to remove the dangling flap left after the last kid. American culture emphasizes the erotic and fashion appeal of the female breast to the point where so many women have implants that it's hard to admire breasts because they're all fake! That said, if you are finished with their function for feeding babies and are really unsatisfied with their appearance, and have the means, change them. If you still have a need for them for what they are intended, I would hold off to preserve function. One thing that hasn't been said yet that you might want to consider, too, is whether or not the sensation of the nipple will be preserved. I've heard that there are procedures that leave the nipple alone so that's not a problem, but if you like the sensation you get from them when your partner stimulates them, think about what it would be like not to have that. Investigate carefully what the different procedures are, how they're done and what the possible undesirable consequences could be.
