Hey everyone,
I have had no problems calculating my calories burned doing cardio, but how do you calculate caloried burned doing strength training? I do pushups, situps, and the weight machines at the gym. When I try to find it on here, I don't find any information. (Or maybe I am overlooking it?)

Help please!

Thanks!

There is such n item in MFP database, it's called "Strength training (weight lifting, weight training)" :)

I do not record my Lifting. Perhaps I should but it is such a guess unless you have a HRM. MFP does have a "strength training" category which does not have calories associated with it.

Under Cardio there is a choice for Strength Training. I use that. Yes, I want my credit!

Thanks everyone, I didn't realize it would be under the cardio section.

    Thanks again!
  • I also record my ab workout under calistenics, since I usually superset abs with each lifting exercise when I'm solely focusing on one muscle group.

I am having the same trouble. I've decided to invest in a HRM watch that also shows calories burned, so that I can get an accurate reading when my heart rate is up.
