400-Calorie Loaded Veggie Pizza (With Pics!)
"For when you want some pizza, but don't feel like spending 1000 calories on 2-3 slices of delivery."
Ingredients:
-1 large tortilla (80 calories, if you use Low Carb/High Fiber "La Tortilla Factory" brand as pictured below)
-2/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (160 calories)
-1/4 of a green bell pepper, diced (~25 calories)
-1/4 of a medium onion, diced (~20 calories)
-2 large mushrooms, sliced thin (~10 calories)
-5 tbsp pizza or spaghetti sauce (~70 calories)
-Garlic powder (optional)
-Pepper (optional)
Prep:
1. Chop veggies. (These are my favorites, but feel free to experiment!)
2. Chop veggies some more.
3. Prep tortilla with sauce.
4. Pile on veggies and seasoning. The mushrooms shrink as they cook, so try to get them all on there. You might have some leftover onion, but then again maybe not if you really like onion.
5. Cook in a 350 degree oven (that's 176 C for my friends across the pond) for about 10-15 minutes. Check often; everyone has a different preference for pizza, after all. Cook longer for less crispy veggies and vice versa.
6. Admire pizza for about 5-7 minutes, because it's way too hot to eat right now.
7. Okay, you can eat it now. If you used the exact same ingredients pictured and amounts, the pizza will be about 360-400 calories. Enjoy!

Awesome. I started making pizza with those tortillas too. I used a mix of mozzarella and Kraft Parmesan cheese, which is lower in calories. I dont mind pizzas like this (although my wife thinks they are gross). They are a nice weekend "splurge".0

I have started making my own pizza as well....never thought to use the tortillas. I use a pita instead. Pretty much the same ingredients minus the mushrooms. If i want a lil meat i use a tablespoon of chopped bacon ( 25 calories). Try it with the pita sometime. Yours looks soo yummy0

I've been using Mama Mary's thin crust whole wheat pizza (1/3 of 12" pie is about 375 cals dressed).0

Yep, they're relatively guilt-free The tortillas are a godsend, especially if you compare them to the bleached flour ones (oh Lordy).0

This sounds awesome! All my fave veggie options for a pizza! If I get a pizza from Dominos or Pizza Hut I get the veggie kind, but this is a much better option that I'm going to try out soon! I've heard about using a tortilla as a pizza base but it's not something I've tried out enough! *drools*0
