Weights Yet or Later?

I have just been reading the topic - http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/717118-is-there-any-point-to-lifting

And I have a keen interest in weight lifting.

Ive lost 20.4kgs since November.
Had 7 children with two of those pregnacies been c-section so have some jelly belly there.

I am wanting to get to weights soon than later but should I lose some more weight before.

I have alot more weight to lose to get to my ideal weight.

So I guess should I start weights now or wait a bit longer??

I'd love to get to heavy lifting soon...
