Bald-Faced hornets.
Large pic - here's the url:
http://www.d-mphotos.com/images/hangingnest.jpgBald-faced hornets are aggressive and will attack anyone or anything that invades their space. This makes bald-faced hornet removal somewhat difficult. They have smooth stingers, so they can sting over and over again. Their stings also carry venom that makes the stings hurt, itch, or swell for about 24 hours
OMG OMG OMG! This is what is in my dogs playhouse!!!!!!!! I knew it was a hornets nest so I locked all 4 dogs out but I have not attempted to kill or touch the thing! It's as big as a disco ball. I'm so scared. Going to call Orkin I guess. I had never seen something like this before.
Do you know if they can live through a Chicago winter??0 -
Yikes! What you gonna do? Id just move house if I were you
I have 9.95 other acres to live...gonna take them out with wasp spray. At night. Geared-up. From within a truck. Hiding like a little girl with just my hand out of the window, holding the can.
Lol... Good plan! However I'd take hornets over spiders anyday... Urgggh (shudder) I hate spiders! You just reminded me that I need to book in for pest control spraying again....0 -
