Hey all.. I'm Janet from NC. I just started counting calories Tuesday. I've done well, stayed below my caloric intake each day.
Learning to make better choices.. Bob Evans for breakfast? Sure! I had A Veggie omelet, fruit, dry toast and turkey sausage and you know what? It was GOOD. So this is a challenge but I really love the App - it has a lot of information!
need to get some form of exercise going.. and I hate exercise lol
Hope to get to know some of you and make some new friends

Hey Janet! Good choices! You can do this! As for exercise I suggest you start small, there is a challenge where you do one exercise a day and you can break it up during the day. Look for August mini challenge here. To day is crunches. You can do it! If you are looking for friends to help support and encourage you feel free to add me as a friend! Good luck on this journey, your doing fabulous!0

Sounds to me like you're changing for real-for life! Crazy fad diets don't last the long haul for most people. If you can't go to your fave places, etc then you will resent it. Good start! And just start walking! Up it as you see fit. Make yourself a little bit uncomfortable but don't kill yourself. You'll get there.0

Hi Janet, I'm a newbie too!
Definitely have to say, the first week has been the hardest for me. I went from merely exercising (running after my 9 month old) to biking on my stationary bike for 45-60 minutes. First few days were the worst, but after that it's becoming easier and easier.
You're doing fabulous! Keep it up!0 -

Excellent job Newbies. Glad you got the first few days out of the way. This need to be a life style change not just a diet. Congrats on the positive attitudes.0

Good for you! Walking is great. You can walk anywhere, for any amount of time and it costs nothing! Add a dog.. and it's even better lol0
