Ooooh. I just bought prunes for the first time this week and found them to be surprisingly delicious in spite of their reputation. I will have to get some more before I can try this but thanks for the recipe!0

Have made 3 batches so far, and can't keep them in the house. 3 men (and me!) and they are GONE!
They remind me more of the old Eatmore chocolate bars of my youth, though.....0 -

Bump - my hubby is a Snickers fanatic - eats a King Size at least twice a week, so maybe I can get him to eat better with these! Think he'll know dates are in there?0
-
Sounds yummy I like that you actually know what is going into a snack bar.0

Oh yes please!! Thank you!0 -
So I dont have to do alot of typing I parted the ingrdients so you know what order to put them in.
Key Lime- Part 1
1/3 Cup Dates
Zest 1 lime
1 Teaspoon lime juice
1 Teaspoon vanilla
-Part 2
2 Tablespoons cashews
1 Tablespoon shredded coconut
Cinnamon Roll- Part 1
1/3 Cup Dates
1 Tablespoon rasins
1 teaspoon vanilla
-Part 2
1 Tablespoon cashews
4 Pecans
1 Teaspoon cinnamon
Directions for both
In a food processor add part 1 and pulse until moist and crumbly, tranfer to a bowl. Next add part 2 and pulse 2-3 times because you want texture. Transfer part 2 to part 1 and mix well. Add 1/2 teaspoon water if mixture doesnt wanna come together. If too sticky then refridgerate for 5-6 minutes. When mixture is ready scrape onto a piece of plastic wrap and mold into 1 bar. You can eat it now but it should be wraped and set up for 20 minutes in the fridge.
I didnt count calories because I figured it doesnt matter becauce its all good and natural ingredients.0 -
I used bagged dates and I think that might be what caused mine to be so high in calories.
For a serving of 6 I got 203 calories a bar.
If I use fresh dates next time will the calories be lower?0 -
bump to try later!
~ thanx0 -
