I have been really working on loosing weight for the past 3 or 4 months.... I'm down QUITE a bit but these last 10 are killin me... Over the weekend I still did my workout routine.. but I gained 2 pounds.... and I ate fairly good.... could this be muscle or could it be that I AM gaining the weight back? I am a bit worried!!!

Lets see that diary....
So you ate "Fairly" Good eh ?0 -
That being said. When you work out and you drink water and you weight your self right after a work out chances are you are just weighting your water you drank ..
You have to understand your body will move in weight up and down all the time during the day .. Food goes in you weight more.. Food goes out .. You weight less..
Stop getting jacked up over a scale number...... Focus on other progress benefits like loose clothes.. More energy... Able to work harder in your work outs.. How you look in the mirror .. Take progress pictures etc etc etc etc
Also you can take measurements..
If you HAVE to weight your self, do it in the morning ONCE a week .. ( I like Fridays ) completely naked....0 -
I'm betting it's water because I just doubt that you actually ate 7000 more calories than you burned over the weekend, and it's pretty much impossible to put on 2 lbs of muscle that quickly.0

if its 2 pounds and your lifting weights it could just be the weights or water. i wouldnt really worry about, keep doing what your doing and you will lose it soon0
-
If you gained two pounds over the weekend it is because you have more water or undigested food in your system now than you did on Friday. It is not physiologically possible to gain 2 pounds of muscle OR fat in as many days.0

I had the same problem for awhile, where I kind of plateaued.. But I increased my calorie intake a little bit, and it kind of kicked the weight loss again Hope you lose that last ten and get where you want0

If you gained 2 lbs of muscle in 1 weekend, you'd either be on a MASSIVE amount of HGH and testosterone, or you'd be the incredible hulk.
Likely, it's water. Open your diary.0 -
1. what does 'fairly good' mean? you really need to put a number on what you've eaten.
2. even if you've eaten badly, it's unlikely that you've eaten the 7000 calories over BMR that it would take to gain 2lbs.
anyway, don't worry. we all feel a bit of a jolt when we see the scale register a higher number than what we expect to see! it's probably just water.0 -
I can't use my diary on the weekends but I ate A TON OF VEGGIES and that laughing cow cheese... NO SWEETS, no sodas, no fried foods. I also can figure out how to log in my workouts. I do the 30 Day shred every morning. I am MORE THAN WILLING to open up my diary though. I am really thinking it is just water or something though. I just worry about blowing up again and I REALLY don't want that.... I will show you some pics.......

I am trying so hard lol.... I just gotta get over this one or two pound increase lol..... I was 220 in highschool and I'm down to 139... (well 141 today hehe)
I was weighing myself EVERY morning but from what I just read that isn't the best thing to do so I will start once a week on Friday. Any other helpful hints would be REALLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
And I am not taking any type of supplements or HGH or nothing... tryin the all natural way this time.... (funny cause it works MUCH better than anything else I have tried and I think I have tried it all lol...0

Do you have a smart phone? You can download the MFP app and log that way. That's how many of the members here manage to log everyday for a year or longer.
You may also try just using a little notebook to write down your foods on the weekends, and then log them when you have access to a computer. I know it is old school, but that is how I used to track my diet back in the day.0 -
YUP I'm gonna use a notebook.... I live WAY WAY in the woods no highspeed service at all..... But that is a GREAT IDEA!!!!!!!!!0

Don't fret, it's water weight. Weigh in the mornings naked, rigth after using the bathroom and that will be your most accurate. Also watch the salt intake, it can make you retain several pounds of water.0

I only began Aug 3 and dropped 5 lbs the first week; watching that nutrition made me do it but here it is at the end of the month I've gained 3 lbs back.....my hubby, who is working out with me each day says not to worry. So don't sweat it and keep on doing the work you've been doing.0

On Saturday I weighed myself in the morning, then weighed myself later, in my clothes. I actually did this for a reason. lol I weighed 6.4 lbs more than I had that morning & I was wearing shorts and a light weight top. I was about to do some stuff with my Wii Fit and it always wants to know what your clothes weigh. So I subtracted the 6 lbs that I had gone up in the day. Shrug...
My scale fluctuates a LOT now that I'm at/near goal. My original goal was 140, which I revised to 135 upon reaching it. BUT, that being said, though I wouldn't mind getting to 135, I'm not killing myself for it. I don't mind being right around 140. But, since reaching just below 140, I've barely been there since. in the past two weeks, I'm much more likely to be in the 140 point something up to 142 point something range. But I know my clothes fit better, I'm on the second EXTRA hole on my belt, I can do more reps within a routine, I can run longer, I look better... So that number is no longer controlling me. You look great & it will come. And yes, it is most likely due to water retention.0
