Doing other cardio/weights during the 30 Day Shred?

I'm thinking of doing the 30DS starting on September 1. I've tried the level 1 workout a few times before but that was waaaay back in the beginning and I never stuck with it as a routine.

Now I think I'd like to try it and do the whole 30 days. My question is if it's OK to continue doing other cardio (running/elliptical) and strength training (free weights and machines) while doing the 30DS? Or should you just do the shred? I want to keep running and doing my regular weight routines, but would that be "wrong"?

The more I think about it and type it out the more I think it can't hurt to keep doing my regular workouts and just add the 30DS too, right? Has anyone done that? I'd love to hear your experience!

I would definitely keep your extra cardio. I did her Ripped in 30 workouts (which is similar to 30 Day shred) for a while. I felt I got the strength part of my workout in, but still needed more for cardio. And since both DVD's are under 30 minutes, there is definitely still time for more cardio in my opinion  Good luck!
  • I'm planning on continuing with my 60 minutes of cardio four times a week, but I'm curious: Did you guys do your cardio before or after Shred? I'm wondering whether to do cardio earlier because Shred might kind of knock me out for the rest of the day.

I've been doing 3DS and then going to the gym for cardio and weights - seems to be working for me!

I'm doing the Shred and adding 3-4 miles a day of brisk walking.

I can't do 30DS after my cardio. My legs drag and I just can't do it! My 30DS has to be before the cardio. I usually do 30DS right after work, and then eat dinner, then go running or to the gym for cardio.

I did INSANITY in the mornings and her 30DS at night! I felt fine so I say go for it if you feel up to it!

As long as your eating enough and sleeping enough, you should be fine... just listen to your body.

But I'll ask the question no one else has... why?
