I'm curious, when you very FIRST started lifting, how much could you lift? And how long ago did you start?

Bench
DL
Squat
etc

Now, what are you lifting?

Show off your strength, lovlies! :)

    Um.....6 months or so

Now benching 75 (started at 45)
Squats 145 (a little above body weight) started around 90
Deadlifts 145 (my form was sucky)

Still stuck on 10 for bicep curls and lateral raises....those suck :)

I started this whole thing 11 months ago. I was very weak and it took me a while to build up strength and get confidence to attempt bench and squats, etc.

I started really getting into it around the New Year, I started benching and squatting with the 45 pound bar.
I was up to 100 pounds for both, and had just added deadlifts when I had to take this break for my back.boo.

    No clue.

I've recently restarted after over a year of not lifting.

Like today was the first time I've done a deadlift in 16 months? :) I started relatively light for me but my last set was 6x125lbs (PR is 250) . My last squat set was 10x95 (can't remember PR).

Bench press - I don't do those so no clue although I used to and remember doing 135 or 145 many years ago.

Oh and I did do some shoulder presses today with the barball (last set 6x45)

I just started with the bar so 20kg. Now 8 weeks later I'm on 47.5kg deadlift, 42.5kg squat and 27.5kg clean and press and bench press. No idea if that's considered good progress or not but I'm happy with it at the minute!

I started with the bar about a year ago lol

    Now,
    Bench - 95
    DL- 185
    Squat - 135

Haven't really tried to find my 1RM on anything yet because I workout alone and have no spotter
  • My first 'real' attempts after about 3 months of boot camps and 5 weeks 1x/week of lifting:

    Bench Press 95
    DL 145
    Squat 145

    5 reps each.

I have no idea what I could have lifted before, but I'm sure it wasn't much... I struggled with 50 lb. boxes of paper.

BTW, all you ladies on this thread are badass ;-)

I am just starting with free weights again, but I love, LOVE, the Stronglifts 5 x 5 program. You start with the bar and go up five pounds from there. So I'm starting at the bottom, and moving up!

    I started 6 weeks ago.

    Beginning:
Bench- 45lbs (but not part of my regular program, so I do not have an "after" weight)
    Squat- 45lbs
    DL- 55lbs

    Current:
    Bench- ??
Squat- 85 (about to go up)
    DL- 95

My goal is to squat more than what I've lost (which soon is also going to be more than what I weigh). I am following the NROL4W. Can't wait to see where I am at the end (just finished stage 1 out of 7).

So, looking back on my lifting log.... I've been lifting since December.

On Dec. 9, 2011 my very first squat was 125# <---not a max part of a WOD

    Last week I did 170#

On feb. 29th my first one rep max DL was 185#

    Today I did 205#

And I have no idea where I started at on bench, but the log says I've done 115# I am surprised by that number and we never do them so I really don't remember.

Strict press I started at 65#
    My max now is 80#

DL-I do half deads as my form was horrible and I'm not allowed to drop the weights in my gym. I cannot justify paying upwards of $50.mo for a better gym, so I just do halfs. That said, start weight was about 60 lbs to be sure form was correct.
    Bench-45 lbs, so the bar
    Squats-I started around 60 lbs I think.
I took a break from lifting to train for a 1/2 marathon(and I couldn't EASILY go to the gym with my kids this summer, so just skipped it). I'll start back next week after I've recovered from my 1/2!

I just started a week and a half ago, although I had done some lifting a couple of years ago. Here's where I was Monday:
    Squats and Deadlifts: 95
    Bench: Haven't started.

I have no idea what I lifted ten years ago, so these are my fresh starts (I hadn't lifted in many years, but it wasn't exactly starting from zero)

    Squat: two 15# dumbells
Deadlift: two 15# dumbells (but that incrased very quickly as i got the hang of it)
    Shoulder press two 15#
    Lunges: bodyweight
    Barbell rows: 45#
    Incline bench: 55#

    Current
    Squat: two 30# dumbells
    Deadlift: 110
Shoulder press: 40 (front squat push press)
Lunges: two 20#, increasing to 30s tonight actually
    Dumbell rows: two 30#
    Incline bench: 60#

After I finish New Rules of Lifting, I want to focus on the main lifts: deadlift, bench, barbell squat, shoulder press. Cuz this stuff is fun but I am starting to feel like I'm wasting my time a little...

Power racks are your friend. You can safely do all of these without a spotter in a power rack that is properly set up to your height. And of course...deadlifts need no spotter...that would be...weird. lol

    August 160lb

    bench-
    January 50lb
    August 100lb
  • I was really weak! haha. This was Last September
    Bench- 20 (currently 65)
    DL- 35 (currently 100)
Squat 25 (currently... Hmm last time I did it I believe it was 80

I used to lift years ago but did not do most of these when I did. I started lifting again in March and started really light (bar only in most cases) as I had not done most before and wanted to make sure my form was good. On my working sets I am now up to:

    Deadlift: 200lb
    Bench: 100lb
    Squat: 145lb
    Press: 75lb

Started NROL4W one month ago, lifting for 9 months straight before that:

    Squats: 45lb (2 sets of 15)
    > 105lb (3 sets of 10)
    Deadlift: 85lb (2 sets of 15)
    > 110lb (3 sets of 10)
    Shoulder Press: 12.5lb (2 sets of 15)
    > 20lb/22.5lb (3 sets of 10) (about to increase to 25lbs)
    Lat Pull: 70lb (2 sets of 15)
    > 100lb (3 sets of 10)
    Seated Row: 45lb (2 sets of 15)
    > 70lb (3 sets of 10)

I don't do bench press right now, so I'm not sure, but I was doing 40lbs for 3 sets of 30 before...

These are the changes over one month.

Bench 30lbs (the bar), now 40 or 50 depending on reps
Squat 45lbs (the bar), now 65 but probably more because I can leg press 208
    Dealift 40lbs, now 65.
