Sodium Difference

I've recently started tracking my sodium, but I'm a little confused how MFP tracks it. For instance, when I put in that I had 2 ear of corn with butter, MFP says the sodium count is 3166, when I put in 2 ears of corn and butter separately, the sodium count is 110. Also with 2 scrambled eggs with cheese, together on MFP sodium is 1321, when added separately the sodium count is 512. There is such a huge difference between the two, so I just add everything in separately. Any thoughts??

Most of the entries in the database are entered by users. Many of them are wrong.0

totally suggest you add your own items in teh database. Gives you a more accurate picture of calories, sodium, etc.0

Weigh or measure your food whenever possible. That is the best way I've found to know. Don't just fall for "1 serving". God only knows what that means! Get a cheap food scale from amazon.0

Check to see if the nutrition information has been confirmed by other users before counting it as accurate. Use the scanner on your mobile device as often as possible with pre-packaged foods, then double check that the nutrition information in the database is identical to the package label. If it is not, then you can correct the information.
Corn on the cob with salted butter is not 3166mg of sodium, I promise. Unless you are getting it from a restaurant, there is no way it can be that high. Restaurant meals are crazy high in sodium, so this could have been for a place like KFC side corn on the cob. That is a believable number for KFC (or any fast food joint).0
