First off my name is Erin. I love life and everything God has given me... except these curves lol
I am 4 months pregnant, so I am not looking for a dramatic weight loss just yet. But I would like to not gain 50 lbs either.
I have always been in great shape, up until I became married to a wonderful man. Then gyms became the last place I wanted to be. After about a year and a half I have noticed my pictures getting harder and harder to enjoy. I had gained about 40 lbs. O.o
I am not looking to be stick thin again by far. But with the coming of our ( first) child I would like to get back into proper shape to be the best that I can be and set a good healthy example for our growing one.
IF ANYONE HAS ANY TIPS FOR STAYING HEALTHY WHILE PREGNAT, PLEASE ADD ME!

Hi Erin - welcome to MFP! And congratulations on your pregnancy.
I'm speaking from experience having had my son 6 years ago. Your body will go through so many changes during the next 5 months and probably has done so already. TBH you have probably got through the worst of it (morning sickness, tiredness etc)!!
After I had my son I was 28lbs heavier than before I had him. The first 14lbs came off within the first few months but the last 14lbs (and the other 14 I needed to lose anyway!) are extremely stubborn even now!
My advice to you would be to keep as active as possible. Yoga is great when pregnant and also swimming is a great all over body exercise - these also increase the strength in your muscles to give birth. Walking is great as well. Get advice from your doctor about what other exercises would be safe - there's also loads of info online!
In relation to diet, just eat healthily. If you want to track your food then set MFP to maintenance calories - do not set it to lose weight. Even at maintenance you might be able to eat a 100-200 more per day as the baby will be using up calories as well.
Best advice is....don't actually eat for 2 like everyone says - that's how the weight goes on!
Oh......and you will have a jelly belly afterwards.......but that can be worked on!!
Good luck and hope this helps.
Edited to add......try this website: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/pregnancy_calorie_calculator.htm0 -
Hi! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm Rachel and I did gain a lot of weight while I was pregnant. I ate for two instead of trying to stay at a healthy weight. That was over 5 years ago. I joined MFP in July 2012. I was sick of still blaming the weight on having a baby...5 years ago. It is not a valid excuse anymore!! :blushing: I have found many encouraging friends on here to help me lose the weight. I may not be able to give the best advice on not gaining too much while pregnant, but I can/will support you and encourage you in every way possible!
Don't ignore every craving, but try not to eat 5 servings when you do eat it! (like I did) lol.
TRY to choose healthy foods and at moderate amounts.
You may add me as a friend if you like...like i said...I will be more than happy to help you stay on track. :flowerforyou:0
