Why do people keep putting "please read" at the end of their forum subjects?

Does it really increase the likelihood that someone will read it?

"Hmmm, that forum topic doesn't really interest me at all, but...WAIT A SECOND!...they added "please read" to it. Well, I guess I'll read that one now."

I open the "please reads" because they are usually drama filled quite entertaining.....

    You got me... Highly disapointed.

Oh, stick around. Even these relatively benign sounding threads can lead to an abundance of drama.

    It is important!!

Say a person is short on time due to their daily activities.
That they have chosen to do.
They make time to post here and ask for help concerning their time.:grumble:

Then they receive more help because they typed "please read".
Otherwise they would have been completely ignored.:noway:

Does it make women mad that on average you are now more educated and made better grades than men but we still make more money and are more successful?

Can you not keep a white shirt clean?

Wow. Why not throw out a few more topic starters...like "vegans are superior to vegetarians in every way", "800 daily calories is more than enough", and "eating after 8p makes you fat"...

    hmmmm...

I am always puzzled by the questions that say "LADIES ONLY!!!!!!!" Does including this line in the title really prevent men from reading it? ... and if you're going to post ANYTHING on a public forum, shouldn't you assume that people of both genders will probably view it?

I only read this because it said "please read."

    So the answer is yes.

Actually, I saw the OP name and was like.. This has got to be good.
