5'3", lightly active, 215lbs
I had it set to 1.5 a week, and I ate my exercise calories. My base was 1550. But I found it hard to meet that on my rest days, so now I have it set to 1 a week, 1800. And I still eat my exercise calories to keep my net AT LEAST 1200, preferably around 15000 -
MFP figured my calorie set at 1200. It's been working for me.
I was going to ask you why you didn't let MFP figure it. It works well on average and you can adjust from there.0 -
Im currently 218 started at 240 my height is around 5ft 4.
I started at 1200, didnt feel it was enough, upped to 1350, have since dropped to 1300 which is the perfect amount for me, now I eat extremely clean and on low carb / high protein eating 1300 and sticking to it is easy Im always full so dont think its too low - I also dont eat back exericse cals, dont shoot me for it, its my choice and its worked so far.
LOL i dont "shoot" anybody! thats funny... yeah glad u eat clean and healthy! right on...
i always eat my exercise cals back.. has me thinking too.. about 10yrs ago or so i saw a profesional trainer
and I weighed like 15-20 LESS then now... and she told me to eat 1400 cals a day and every 3rd day up to 1700 then down again (jolt the metabolism) and of course i was working out (gym trainer, LOL) not insane work outs but good and ya she never said to "eat my exercise cals back".. BUT i was at base 1400 NOT 1200.. and now im here 150-20 more and 10yrs later..
i think for me and my wt.. im going to up my BASE cals to 1480 so just under 1500 and not eat my exercise cals back.. but use them as a cushion as needed (if hungry/go out etc) and if i do a killer burn like yesterday burned over 800 cals total! I will prob eat cpl hund of those back... well see.. but I think 1200 is too low a base for me personally.. when i burn my bmr is like almost 1700!!! well see how this all goes0 -
I'm taller than y'all, 5'8", but I weigh 228 currently. I started at 1200 cals and lost 7 lbs first week, but then nothing in the two weeks following. After 3 days of increasing to 1500 cals and eating back some (not all) of my burned calories I lost 2 lbs more. I'm planning on staying at 1500-1600 and gradually increasing if needed.0

5' 9" - office job = sedentary. Started early July at 220
MFP set me at 1600. At 210 I reset to 1540
I currently do light cardio daily, very light. Got my bras, now I need my shoes. C25K training starts this weekend.
I have lost 14 pounds in a steady process over two months.
I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY !!!!0 -
I started at 201lbs and have been eating 1700 calories a day pretty much since the start of my journey. I'm 5ft 5 btw
Ok...I really wanted to quote your ticker! Love the vegatarian zombies!! LOL!0 -
I'm 5'9" and 215. MFP has me set at 1,200 and i eat back about half my exercise calories (using MFP's estimates...not using a HRM which would be more accurate). Seems to be working for me so far.0

I'm taller at 5'11" and weigh 222 and eat around 2100 calories, give or take a few hundred depending on my burn for the day. I have a Body Media Fit and burn around 3000 calories per day including exercise so I try to keep my deficit between 500-1000 calories. On average, I have lost 1-2 pounds per week since I got it.0

5'6 SW: 220 , CW 208. I am slowly increasing to about 1800(from 1200) - I'm at 1700 right now. Macros are set 45/35/20 but those will change slightly to allow more fat as I am very tired lately and feel this is likely why. BMR is about 1650, TDEE 2295. I am fairly sedentary and my calories already include any exercise that I do so I don't have to futz with figuring all that out or eating anything back.0

I'm 5'2" and 212lbs at the moment and I'm set at 1260 per day to lose 1.5lbs per week. I'm set to sedentary right now, though I will be upping it to lightly active when my kids start school next week.0

I'm 5'5" with a start weight at 227. Start calories at 1580 in April. With every 10 pound loss, MFP ask if you would like to adjust you cal intake. I'm now at 1380 and that is as low as I will go. I was thinking about upping that cal intake by 100 cal, but I'll stick with the 1380 for now. I think you started too low. This is a journey and the weight will come off. I'm impatient once I reached my 1st major goal, but I have to keep telling myself this is a journey and not a quick fix. We are doing something that will that daily work, so with a diet you can live with and exercise, you will be fine
And I try not to eat back my exercise calories
It's never asked me if I wanted to adjust my cal intake........why? I've gone from 228 to 215.0 -
hi. just curious how many cals women (around 5'2"-5'5" or so) and weight 200-220#'s........ how many cals do u have a day?
what are you set at??? for how long? how is it going?? i think i started too low...did the whole 2#'s a week thing and got the big whole 1200 cals a day!...did that a mo...upped it to 1380 (1 1/2) pound setting a wk..did that about 3wks ago.... now just upped it another 100 calories.... I exercise a lot 400 cals burned minimum a day and usually more like 500-700 in total a day! (and i eat my exercise cals back of course, croak if not i think.. LOL).. anyway....but i hear things /read/blogs...about how if you are too low on cals you can hurt your metabolism for the long run and wt loss.. lil nervous about upping them again tonight... but might be good!
and ive also known peeps that weigh much less then me and are at higher cals and loosing wt!! so im like??? :indifferent:
