Help please with macros and pie chart

I'm a bit confused by something. Everyday this week I have been under my calorie goal and therefore either under or bang on my macros. I have these set to 35% carbs, 20% fat and 45% protein.

When I view the weekly pie chart on my phone app the percentages it is showing do not reflect the figures on the main site.

For example it's showing for my weekly totals 39% carbs, 27% fat and 34% protein. How can it be showing carbs and fat to be over my percentages when I have had some left over on each day???

I don't get it - help please :ohwell:

They show the source of your calories out of 100%, if you have less of a certain macro you will be definition have a greater proportion of energy from the remaining 2 even if you are under calorie. For example my fat intake can be around 35-40% when I'm spot on because I eat quite few carbs, so on those days I get a greater proportion of calories from fat.

    Does that make sense?

So the macro percentages have no relevance to the pie chart percentages?

I think that if you are absolutely spot on then the pie chart will be the same as your macros. But I'm not sure, so I hope someone else comes along to explain better :)

It's a percentage of your eaten calories, not of your target. if you looked at it after you had only eaten a knob of butter it would show 100% fat. 0% carbs and 0% protein, as you had only consumed fat.

As an example, if you ate 1000 calories, using your actual % figures above you would have had 390 calories from carbs, 270 calories from fat, and 340 calories from protein.

But to hit the macros as you'd set up you would have needed to have 350 calories from carbs, 200 from fat, and 450 from protein.
