high cortisol levels and weight loss

Hi everyone,
For the past 9 months I have only lost 0.7kg/1.5lbs.
I eat right, I stay within my calories, I exercise.
I have had my full bloods done ages ago and last week got my cortisol levels checked - they are almost double what they are meant to be!
For anyone else with high cortisol levels, how did you lose weight? Was it possible? Do I need to figure out how much slower my metabolism is than it should be?

i haven't had mine tested, but i googled it for you

since high cortisol is linked to high stress maybe you can use some therapeutic techniques on yourself to destress.
journalling, exercising, painting or any other art form, sports, hanging out with positive people and ditching the negative, meditation, etc.0 -

might not really be helpful but I found this article that I thought was interesting, particularly the part about making sure you sleep completely in the dark..http://www.naturalnews.com/025301_thyroid_cortisol_body.html0

Are you deloading as part of your training? When is the last time you took a complete training break? When is the last time you took a diet break and raised cals to maintenance for a week or two?0

I haven't lost a pound. At all. Ever. And yet, I look a hell of a lot slimmer and healthier than I did to start with.
Someone working out a lot, will as well as glycogen and water retention, will be gaining a small amount of weight in lean mass - not necessarily muscle, but connective tissues, bone density etc. This is especially true of people coming from being highly overweight/obese, where small muscle gains are possible.
And the more you exercise, the more cortisol will be in your body (I assume after a certain point, cortisol production increases exponentially). Getting a good night's sleep every night will go a long way to helping you.
But honestly, who the **** cares if you haven't lost 'weight'? You look better, your clothes fit better, your stronger and healthier. That's what counts.0 -
What did your doctor say about the high levels? If he is just going to "let it be", I would get a copy of those labs and find another doctor. Your weight isn't the only reason to treat those levels.0

Have you lost weight since posting this?
My cortisol is also twice the normal upper limit. Its onl been two months I've had the energy to work out and I eat well, yet there's no change. That 15 lbs I gained isn't going anywhere0
