Ok, how about comparing bacon to, say, an actual turkey breast, not the fake turkey bacon.

    Bacon:

Schneider's Country Naturals - Bacon With Natural Ingredients
    Servings: 1 (2 slices, 54g)
    Calories: 230
    Total Fat: 22 g
    Saturated: 8 g
    Trans: 0 g
    Cholesterol: 30 mg
    Sodium: 330mg
    Potassium: 0 mg
    Total Carbs: 1 g
    Dietary Fibre: 0 g
    Sugars: 0 g
    Protein: 7 g

    Turkey Breast:
Schneiders Country Naturals - Oven Roasted Turkey Breast
    Servings: 1 (4 slices, 64g)
    Calories: 70
    Total Fat: 1 g
    Saturated: 0 g
    Trans: 0 g
    Cholesterol: 30 mg
    Sodium: 570 mg
    Potassium: 0 mg
    Total Carbs: 0 g
    Dietary Fibre: 0 g
    Sugars: 0 g
    Protein: 15 g

So, from bacon, you're getting 22g of fat, yet you're only getting 1 g from even more turkey breast. That's a 2200% increase! You also get more protein from turkey breast than you do from bacon, 15g and 7g respectively. That's twice as much! Yes, the sodium is higher, but not by an astronomical amount. Meat does have natural sodium in it. You get more actual meat from a turkey breast.

So, how can you argue that bacon is better for you? All I see in bacon is fat. If you want to eat turkey bacon, then that's just silly.

YUM Bacon. . . . .When I am having a cheat meal I go to Five Guys and get a Little Bacon Cheeseburger. They have super crunchy bacon. It has to be crispy CRISPY bacon.

I have tried the Turkey crap and NO thank you. I am going to stick to my real bacon. YUM.

    Now I want bacon.

For anyone who loves the taste of cured smoked bacon but worries about nitrates go for Parma ham, its nitrate free and has the most intensely bacony bacon flavour. Om nom nom nom.

Hormel precooked bacon is only 70 cals fo r 4 slices. One minute in the microwave and done. And just one slice can add tons of flavor! If anyone has a Costco or a Samsclub they sell a huge package with 72 slices for 9.00. Pretty cheap overall.
