I made this and added 1 Tbsp vinegar, then put in 12 muffin tins. Vinegar added to any muffin recipe makes them lighter and larger. Each muffin is 100 calories.

I ran into this recipe by accident and had it tonight. It was AWESOME. The recipe yields 9-10 servings and is 118 calories a serving

    Sugar – ¼ cup
    Butter - Salted, 2 tbsp
Egg - Egg, Large , 1 large egg
Nature's Promise (Mrb) - Organic Unsweet Applesauce, ¼ cup
Generic - Mashed Banana, 1 cup
    Gold Medal - All-Purpose Flour, 1 1/4 cup (30g)
    Baking soda, 1.5 tsp

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Mix all ingredients except flour until well mixed together.
Mix in the flour until mixture is smooth
Pour into a bread dish and bake for 50 minutes.
Cool and serve...if you can wait that long

  • I made these today, but added a 1/2 cup of blueberries and made muffins instead. I got 15 muffins out of the batch, but you could make them a litte bigger and make just 12 even also if you wanted. With the 5 muffins it comes out to 83 calories a serving, but I don't count the cooking spray in the ingredients. They taste great though.

    Per Serving

    83 Calories
    15 Carbs
    2 Fat
    2 Protein
    6 Sugar
    1 Fiber

I love Banana Bread. However am in Australia and don't really have all the applesauces. Any ideas on what to replace that with? Or any applesauce is ok?

Woolworths have a cheap unsweetened applesauce :) I had the same problem recently ha.

Did you mean to say with the "15" muffins it comes out to 83 cals?

I freeze my extra bread or muffins... just throw them in a freezer bag and take out the amount you plan to eat. Within 10 minutes, they are thawed enough to eat or you could pop them in the microwave for 5-15 seconds!

I was feeling like banana bread last night! I made a similar recipe with whole wheat flour. It turned out great!
