Quick loss?

The scale claims that I havelost 5 lbs in 2 days...I don't know if it's innacurate ? It's a Weight Watcher's digital.I just started and probably have cut my calorie intake by at least half this week. I know I usually lose really quick at first but that seems a little much. Gonna take my scale back and get an old school one. I've never had a digital one and I'm not sure if they are accurate- altho I jump on and off all day and I know your weight varies all day. It's impossible to do it only once a week- maybe I should put it out of sight for a week?

I keep mine in the cabinet below the bathroom sink so I don't jump on it all day long.0

Digital scales: place them in the exact same spot on the floor with no carpet underneath every time you weigh. If I move mine an inch, it adds or subtracts three pounds. Guess which way I move it?
Most people see a significant loss in the first week of restrictive calories. Next week you may gain some of it back, or lose less.
I used to weigh once a week, now I weigh daily, You'll figure out which works for you...and that may change with time. I didn't even own a scale while I was actively losing. I bought mine when I hit maintenance.0 -
Chances are the scales are working fine. I would suggest only measuring once a week, on the same day, at the same time with the same clothes or better naked. Keep it out of sight as you say, I keep mine in the box it came in under my bed to avoid the temptation to check my progress so I only measure Friday morning after I wake up.0

I weigh twice a week, but that's because getting weighed is part of the screening for the plasma donation, and so I just see what they put down.
I wouldn't weigh daily. Especially being female, we have so much small variance that it will mess with your head if you weigh yourself often.0 -
I weigh every day, because I need to know how to adjust myself daily. But that's just me. I weigh at the same time every day, after going to the bathroom, before eating or drinking, and I do it in my birthday suit.
However you decide to weigh in (daily, weekly, biweekly, etc), it's best to do it at the same time, wearing the same kind of clothes. The results are much more accurate that way.0 -
I'm keeping the digital because this is one is supposed to be good, but I am going to weigh myself once a week because I know I'll keep losing but an ounce here or there or even a pound doesn't seem like a big accomplishment(better than gaining though!) and a bigger loss in numbers will keep me motivated
Gonna put it under the bed - too tempting to look at!
