Spiers & Boden played the folk festival here (Isle of Wight) a couple of years back and they were stellar. Highly recommended.

I never knew you had a folk festival !

I shall have to check it out for next year as its much nearer to home than Cambridge.. any excuse to see Mr Boden in any of his many guises , highly recommend his solo album Songs from the Floodplain

I  the Tartan Terrors. They're one part parody/comedy, and one part bagpipe, flute and fiddle awesomeness.

    Fun: http://youtu.be/Vh06GD-zndI

The Chieftains, Gaelic Storm, Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Irish Rovers and the Clancy Brothers get regular play on my ipod.

I could listen to "The Foggy Dew" by the Chieftains and Sinead O'Connor over and over and over repeatedly

I love Albannach, Ed Miller, Uncle Hamish and the Hooligans, Kilbrannan, Penny Whiskey, the Sandcarvers, SAOR Patrol, Alex Beaton, Cutthroat Shamrock...

Saw Albannach at the Highland Games in NH last year. Great show. :)

Mary Black, Dolores Keane, Davy Spillnae (I think that's how you spell his name, he plays the Uillean pipes), all of the Riverdance and Lord of the Dance soundtracks, The Secret of Roan Inish soundtrack is awesome.

Yes! It's called Folkstation (mainly because it used to be held at the IOW Steam Railway site) but has moved on. My boss is one of the organisers, so I get to go for free. It's small, friendly, and the music has been top notch.
