Lose not loose!
Lose not loose!
Two different words!

lose/lo͞oz/
Verb:

Be deprived of or cease to have or retain (something): "I've lost my appetite".
Cause (someone) to fail to gain or retain (something): "you lost me my appointment at the university".

loose/lo͞os/
Adjective:

Not firmly or tightly fixed in place; detached or able to be detached: "a loose tooth".

Ok, I'm sorry, I just really needed to get that off my chest. Phew.

    Yes!

And "too" has TWO O's. GAH!

Seeing a sentence like "I eat to many calories" is worse than nails on a chalkboard for me...

And then there's the whole issue with "your" vs. "you're."

I wonder if there's ever that one person who reads these threads and thinks, "Oh...oh, god...I've been doing it wrong all this time! "

How 'bout they're, their, and there?

Well, OP, aren't you just the bee's knees. Do you know what has two letter O's in it?

    Google

You can use that properly to see that someone just as brilliant as you posts this exact same topic every week.

The only people that will open this thread are people that already "get it". Those that don't get it and never learned to spell call us grammar police, while ignoring the fact that proper grammar is good communication.
  • There, Their, They're, It's nothing to get worked up over. LOL. Just kidding, I too am a Grammar Nazi.

I don't believe you need a comma in that last sentence. Also, another "grammar Nazi" above misspelled the word "when".

Where's the fun in only one O?

    lose
  • I hate when people respond to my weight loss as "Congrats on your lost<<<<<" 0.o???? :indifferent:
  • I've found on a couple of occasions when I've posted something quickly with just one misspelled word, a whole load of people jump on it straight away to correct me. I do agree that correct grammar is good communication, however there are people here having a hard time trying to correct their self image. The last thing I would want is to constantly be corrected on other things such as spelling.

I actually accidentially did the your/your're mistake yesterday...and after going away from the post and then checking back-in on it, saw the error and edited just because of the error

to loose the O's you need to eat more protein, not fruit, it has simple sugars and will make you fattt. You haf to watch the carbs otherwise you will DIE like literally light on fire and that's bad. We're all made of jam.

Can I blame the computer-or maybe my typing skills instead of my spelling skills:laugh:
