Battling the Self Esteem

Morning

My whole life I have battled with self esteem and this definitely took a dive as the weight went on! This has always lead to negativity in believing I can achieve things long term.

So looking for friends who have similar problems or even just want to be friends.

Good morning! I'm with you on this and this past week every since i posted about needing friends, I have gained so many and they are awesome supporters on here. The main thing that has helped me feel better about myself is being honest with myself. I have to do this. I have to lose weight, and I feel great knowing that I'm heading that direction and the people that are cheering me on are such an inspiration! I love reading success stories and seeing the ones who have lost, it lets me know it's possible!

You already got me as a friend, I have struggled with low self esteem too, fingers crossed as my weight comes off the self-esteem will improve, although I don't seem to be as bad as I was before, I think this is partly because I know I am trying my best to do something positive, and I am stubborn enough not to let myself give up. I'm honest, I log all my food, and I try to always make decent choices. Hope we can help each other along, I certainly appreciate all your kind comments!! Lesley x

Hi, we should live our life with no self doubt...I am guilty of this myself. I have attempted myfitnesspal several times but, this is the first time i have really used it and am taking advantage of all of the GREAT things that it offers. I also willl say I started going to a gym that has great ZUMBA classes and somehow I feel a lot better about myself, I guess its because i am finally really trying. good lik you can do anything . Once you start loosing the weight, that low self esteem will leave by every pound you shed.

God Bless! my usoername is jvnklee if you would like to be friends.

Self esteem can be very elusive! I just recently started getting mine back...it disappeared when I was a kid. The bigger I got...the more invisible I wanted to be. Even as I first started losing weight...it wasn't coming back. It was hard not letting it get me down. After a while it started to improve and now I even like myself. I promise it's possible. Don't do what I did. Don't let the numbers determine your worth. Don't let your size determine your importance. Start working on it now!!! :flowerforyou:

Count me among your friends/supporters. Many of us have self esteem issues, but you can change it. Being overweight truly robs you of living. We are here for you.

I hear you big time, I've struggled as well since I was bullied since I started school, a lifestyle change is my way of prove to them (and myself) that they're wrong,
best of luck to you! x

My self esteem issues came from feeling I was not enough
    not good enough
    not pretty enough
    not wealthy enough
    but surprise surprise
    I'm learning
I am enough! and I am capable! this is my mantra throughout the day when the negative voices in my head try to rain on my parade
    fat or thin
    I'm enough
Always walk daily with your head held up high
    you matter
