Dear Oreos...I Hate you

So I have been looking at the same sleeve of Oreos for about a week now, and every night i pick them up and put them down. I have a serious internal struggle..but I keep thinking about my weigh-in and my new panties I get to wear if I can loose 10 more pounds. I hate my sleeve of Oreos, but they represent everything that I hate about myself and my everyday struggle with myself.

I HATE YOU OREOS...but I WILL WIN!

<3
Laura

PS, I really need support...if you need some as well, please feel free to friend me. I am new to the online version of this, but I try my best between 3 kids, full time school and a husband who just had surgery to get on here to get myself amped up.

Those oreos are just waiting for a late night binge! Be careful!

I'd actually recommend giving in slightly! Take out 3, wrap up the rest, and get them out of eye site. Let that be your dessert everyday.

It'll be something to look foreward to, but you don't want to depress yourself with them always there, and never being able to have them. You'll be setting yourself up for failure.

    Best of luck!

I would set aside the box/container, then put those oreos in a baggie, and symbolically smash the *kitten* out of them and bury them in the garbage can. Ever read the label on those things?! They are horribly nasty for you. That said, I have been known to eat one on occasion, but only as a very rare treat and I know exactly what I am eating, so I can easily limit myself to one or two. I suggest If you ever "earn" them as a treat for yourself, make yourself go to the convenience store and buy a single serving only!

BTW, I love the "new panties at 10 lbs." reward! I bet your significant other will find that to be a reward as well! :)

Either have 2 and throw the rest out -- or I love the smash them and throw them out idea. Often times I will give into a craving though because otherwise I will keep thinking about it. I often find that when I give in its not as good as I thought!

So I'm not sure if this is a mean thing for me to do, but Target is going to have Candy Corn Oreos for a limited time starting on the 10th.

I would guess the nutrition facts would be close to Golden Oreos:

I've eaten an entire box before (actually several times and quite recent, I loved the birthday cake ones).............I think it's 1300 calories to eat all of them. I love oreos especially golden, but double stuffed are yummy.

I like the idea of crushing them, especially on icecream.

If they are taunting you though seriously throw them away.
  • here's an idea...THROW THEM OUT!!

    SMASH SMASH SMASH.........
Seriously though, why torture yourself. Either eat them and move on or get rid of them and do the same.

Smashed Oreos are delicious. You're better off throwing them away or finding a way to work them into your plan.

  • Omg throw them away! If you have to have Oreos have the carb well sugar free ones they are 100 cal for 8 and I also have to say I tried the healthy choice Greek frozen yogurt in vanilla bean and it was AWESOME! One container is 100. Cal.

I agree throw them away. They are just tasty "fat pills" or at least that's how I look at them. You can find another treat that can replace them! I love no sugar added Klondike bars. They taste just like a klondike for only150 calories!

I say give in and eat a serving! If you don't treat yourself once in a while you might binge and eat the whole sleeve!

I know throwing them away is really hard (wasting food and whatnot). Try destroying them to the point that you wouldn't eat them first, like drowning the bag in a sink full of water. Or run them over with your car... have fun destroying them.

Bring them to work. Leave them in the break room next to the coffee pot. They'll disappear.

If it were me I would throw them away in a heartbeat - or sit down with a glass of milk and knock them off in one sitting though it would be definitely better to chuck them. As you can tell from my pic, for me that's not a binge, it's a serving. Or should I say, "... was"

Having them around is like trying to quit smoking but leaving a pack of smokes in your purse.

I bought a box of the Grasshopper cookies and portioned them out and threw them in my freezer. They are already pre-portioned, so I'm not tempted to sit there and eat the entire box in one sitting. By putting them in the freezer, I forget about them most of the time. I do the same with candy. If it's not in my eye sight, it's not a big deal. But if the craving hits, I do have something.

But I'm a huge believer in everything in moderation. And most of the times, the things I don't eat normally, don't taste nearly as good as my craving makes me want to think it will.

Something that is actually really good and may help with the craving is to take one or two oreos and smash the hell out of them and then mix them in some good greek yogurt. All things in moderation.

:) This is why I refuse to keep Oreos in the house. It is impossible for me to just eat one (or three...). I have very few weaknesses right now food-wise, but they are definitely one of them!

She said she has three kids, so just throwing them out probably is not a realistic scenario. I have the same issue to an extent, with a four year old in the house. You will need to give in from time to time and enjoy it. I buy as little junk food as possible, but I'm not playing the food police with my son. He is a healthy weight and is learning to make healthy choices and still be a kid and have treats sometimes!

It tests my willpower and sometimes I falter, but get right back at it the next day.
