Goals??!!

I have be in a bit of a funk this week. I think mainly due to not sleeping well at all and I have not exercising since Sunday of last week when I walked my dogs 2 miles.

My question is that I have been looking at others profiles and I see specific weight loss and lifestyle goals. I got my to thinking that I do not have any goals other that I want to lose 40 lbs. So I am needing ideas/thoughts/BS on helping me create some goals for myself.

Long term goals is to lose 40 lbs ( maybe 50 )

Shorterm goal is to lose 20 by new years eve.

Thats all I've got:mad:  :grumble: :grumble:

Any advice/thoughts or just sharing your goals with me so I can figure mine out would be greatly appreciated.:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

get a smokin hot dress for new years eve. hang it in your closet and look at it a lot. try it on a lot. you will soon realize that your goal is closer than you think. thats what i do. just got a pair of 7s For All Mankind jeans. not cheap either. size 11 jrs. they are tight i wont lie. but they are fitting better by the day. i plan on taking them to maine when we go to celebrate our 21st anniversary in 2 weeks. hope this helps!!!

What about some goals you can be sure you control?
    So something like
4 excersise sessions of 30 mins / week
2 healthy meals / day ( or no more than x cheat meals / week)
Fall within my calorie and macro goals each week
    Try 1 new excersise / week/ month

While most of us have weight related goals, short of using a chainsaw you can't garuntee meeting them.
What if you only loose 18 lb of fat, but gain some muscle and drop a few dress sizes, would you be happy with that?

Performance based goals you can be sure of.

That's what kept me going. I wanted to be able to run a 5k. I didn't care what the scale said, I knew if I could run a 5k, I'd be healthier and stronger than I was when I started. So I did Couch to 5k, and each week, I was able to run a little bit further than the week before. That motivated me way more than losing pounds.
