I have learned to be more understanding and compassionate. I never realized how many people struggle everyday with food and weight. (I also learned it's a lot of g@& &%#* work to get rid of it)0

Counting calories makes a HUGE difference and is worth the work.
Read nutrition labels and ingredients lists.0 -
Watch the sodium levels in pre-packaged/frozen foods! Just because it's 'diet' or 'light' doesn't mean it's the best choice.0

Yeah, isn't that insane?!?! I've been buying everything low fat / fat free / etc. for years now.... but it wasn't until last summer that I realized that maybe the full fat version (in moderation) is actually better for me in the long run. Go figure. :happy:0 -

I honestly would have never thought that on my own... all the diets that you see/hear talk about eating less and watching what you eat... not eating more (good stuff) and eating healthy fats and things like that. I've been reading Superfoods Rx also.
I just hope I can get back on track soon!0 -

you can eat like 3 for about 200 cals (if you prepare em with pam or boil)....3 of those with 2 breaded frozen fish fillets is actually a great and filling dinner

Pierogies are fine, just pasta and taters. Kind'a carby - but if you've got the calories there's nothing wrong with them.
Just be careful with portions,,, they're really carby. You can have one pierogie or a bushel of string beans... :happy:0 -

I've learned that if you meal plan, try to leave room for a few hundred calories....if you are anything like me, knowing you have the ability to eat something else, like an extra slice of turkey or cheese, a cup of juice, a whole can of soup instead of half...I have been "adding" all day and I still have calories left!

If you're struggling, don't think to much... just get back on track. Over-thinking is not productive.0
