Healthy Snack Ideas

Options
So after 1 month of pretty diligent logging on MFP, I figured out that binging happens during snack time. I stick to my calories for my main meals, but end up exceeding the limit for snacks. Can you please give me ideas for healthy snacks (I'm vegetarian, but eggs and dairy are fine).

    I'm also vegetarian :-)

    My snack ideas:

*Cottage cheese with sliced strawberries/chopped pineapple/fruit in general
    *String cheese
    *Snack pack pudding/a yogurt
    *100 calorie kettle/popcorn bags
*Sliced veggies with hummus (red peppers, celery, baby carrots)
    *Wheat toast with nutella/peanut butter
*Oatmeal (generally have a variety in my desk for quick breakfasts but use them as a snack if I stay late)
*Trail mix (I like ones with little pieces of dark chocolate in them)

I am hooked on the Kelloggs Fiber plus Dark chocolate Almond bar, it tastes like treat! Not at all like a normal fiber bar. I also love taking a wheat flat bread and putting feta and olives and peppers and tomatos with a little greek dressing and toasting it. So yummy and filling. I think the Euzickel rounds work the best:) and lettuce wraps. My roomate is a vegitarian so i make them for her all the time with peanut sauce water chesnuts carrot, garlic, bamboo shoots, mushrooms and green onions. I can give you the recipe if you like that kind of stuff:)

Thanks for the awesome suggestions folks. Some more questions

    1. What calorie limit do you set for your snacks?
    2. For items like fruits/veggies and dips, what portions do you eat?

I like to eat fruit or veggies. The portion depends on what you are eating, for example you can eat a lot more volume calorie wise in carrots or celery versus a banana. Whatever calories you can afford to snacks portion them out based on that. If I am hungry and don't have a lot of calories fibre filled veggies always make me happy!

Plain greek or regular yogurt (low fat or fat free) with 1/2 scoop chocolate protein power (or low cal, no sugar added hot chocolate mix) and some fruit for dipping (raspberries, strawberries, banana). It is sooo good!

I think calorie wise for snacks, depending on what your daily allowance is, you are looking between 100-250 max for calories for snack time.
