After a very funny conversation with a friend, we were talking about the new wrinkles that seem to come up after the weight is coming down. My wrinkles are mid stomach area. What do people do with this?! We were talking using different creams and see if it could reduce the look, Other then a tummy tuck what do you do in the mean time!

I've heard when you're losing weight it can take up to 2 years for the skin to start shrinking back decently. You might just have to put up with some of it for awhile. Try not to lose too fast and drink lots of water. Hang in there!0

My tummy is feeling a touch wrinkled and I know from when I lost weight before that it is related. I'm going hardcore on the Vitamin E /Dry skin cream and it is seeming to help a bit. I think it is easier for younger skin to get back to normal and being 40 for me I need to take extra steps and also have to watch that I am not losing too fast so that my skin has a chance to shrink a bit.0

I want to know an answer to this aswell:)0

I am losing very slowly, first time ever this slow. Just hate the look of it, feel of it, and how it sags! I am ok with surgery at a point. I am planning for this to be honest. But what a conversation to have!0

Hello! I have started noticing a little of this myself (even though I still have a looong way to go to reach my goal) and just started reading up on it. One thing I have read is to take it slow - which I see you are doing. Another is to drink lots of water because hydrated skin helps with elasticity. I've also seen that weight training and (if it's in your stomach, like mine is) crunches to help tighten the skin help. Also, if you are on Pinterest, I've seen several pins lately with tips on firming things up.0

Mine come every 5 pounds and then go away and come back another 5 pounds later.
How yours go is probably genetic. Exercise IS ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIALLY TO MAKE THEM LEAVE!0 -
Exercise, exercise, exercise. Those are the three best ways to tighten up that skin.0

Stretch marks? or wrinkles? Cuz I have massive stretch marks all over but no wrinkles.0

Strength Training, a good multivitamin if you don't have great nutrition, lotion, and stay hydrated and that helps your skin's resiliency. Age plays a HUGE part in this too.. older folks, you'll just have to work harder at it, sorry, older skin is just not as resilient.0

BAAAHAHAHA my body looks like a series of ball sacks. maybe not literally, but that's how i feel- and it ain't pretty! <3n-0

Elastin 3 makes a good post-baby/weight loss cream that got rid of ALL my stretch marks (See avatar) It's also REALLY good for restoring collagen and firming up loose/wrinkled skin. it's not cheap, about $50/bottle, but totally worth it, IMO. If you get it, I recommend buying 2 at a time, because even though I'm small and there wasn't a ton of area to cover, when you use it as often as the label directs, you'll run out before the marks/wrinkles are as gone as they're going to be.0

Proper fats (coconut oil etc) are huge in helping your skin tone and elasticity. As we age yes we lose it, but proper fat in the diet makes a huge difference.0

I call them wrinkles! but more then likely stretch marks! I know the working out will help and do quite a bit, but wish they would not show up at all! Things are happening slowly, so I think I see them longer then I want to !0

This kind of thing can happen with the face too. Heavier people tend to look younger because of the fat in their face.0

I've noticed that young adults often look more youthful in the after photos posted to the Success Stories forum. The middle aged and older people, not so much. I'm in my late 50s and find some comfort in the thought that my fat distribution is such that I had relatively little to lose from my face and neck. I guess I look my age, but no worse from having been overweight.
To have lost nearly 60 pounds at my age I've been fairly lucky about the impact on my skin. After a year of maintenance I still have some vertical wrinkling above my belly button, which is no longer round and probably never will be again. And I have to be careful about how bras and swimsuits fit or the thin, crepey skin left behind by my "side boobs" will bunch up above the side panels. And my girls are deflated. If I were going to have any sort of corrective surgery it would be a boob job, not a tummy tuck. Other than that, things are pretty much back to normal. I carried most of my weight between my hip bones and arm pits, so there was never a lot of excess skin to shrink elsewhere.
What to do... I ate a balanced diet with sufficient healthy fat, drank plenty of water, made sure I got my vitamin C every day, and slathered on the coconut oil after every shower. I didn't do this, but my grandma once told me that young mothers and mothers to be in her day (she had her kids in the 1920s) were advised to drink a cup of warm chicken or meat broth every evening to help their skin recover. For the collagen, I suppose.0 -
you are young im sure youl be ok, were as at 64 and my large loss i have wrinkles on my face now as well as exess skin on arms and tummy. when you get older it doesnt make any difference at all how much we exercise or use creams the skin just hasnt got the elasticity it had. but on loosing another stone and getting down to my bmi for a year the docs have said they will cut it all away.0
