Finding Patience for the Turtle Pace

I've decided to knock myself down to around the 1 pound a week loss goal. Things got hairy with binging, lack of motivation, and just general train derailment so I figured I needed to slow things down and get my balance back with a more relaxed calorie goal but UGH it's SO SLOW. haha This is totally my personality to be going nuts from slow results. And the thing is, my train derailment made me pack 5 pounds-ish back on. So now, I'm all "OMG, that's more than a month to take that off!".

Anyway, anyone else taking things slowly? How do you cope with working but not seeing results right away? I so suck at this. lol

  • I focus on something other than the scale. The tape measure, body fat %, progress pictures--and even more than that, how my fitness improves, because that matters to me above all else. If I PR a lift or a run, the happiness lasts longer than a drop on a scale. It takes time to adjust to that mindset, and I still struggle with it, but there's a light at the end of the tunnel. :flowerforyou:

I'm also doing a pound a week. The slow results aren't so fun, especially after I lost so much weight the first month but I just keep in mind that it's a lifestyle change for me and not a diet. I'm going to keep watching my calories and getting more exercise whether I see great results or none at all for a while because I don't want to go back to where I was and I know that if I keep working at it, the weight will come off eventually.
