Men in skirts

I only wear skirts in panto - and any woman who can walk up stairs (and down) in a long skirt or go to the loo has my utmost admiration - (let's just not mention the heels, okay?)
when my grandchildren came to stay we took them to church and I was in the choir, wearing a cassock and surplice. My 4-year old granddaughter told her teacher (in France) that, "Grandad wore a pretty white princess dress".
Oh, my reputation ...?!0 -
i have no issues with it.... but some of the choices in the photos on the group you linked to..well not the best...

I think it would depend on the man, like if Channing Tatum was in a skirt I would approve. Easier access :bigsmile:0

Kilts are acceptable for people of celtic decent and only in formal or cultural occasions.
My son is big, with reddish hair, he could wear on......Not me though.
Other than that, it just looks creapy.
Men in other kinds of skirts in other occasions, No comment.0 -
Wear whatever you like whether it be kilt, dress, sarong. Just own it.
Have to say I love kilts0 -
kilts are not skirts. Kilts are manly. At least to me.
I see kilts as unisex. I went to a girls' school where kilts were part of our uniform. I see them as a type of skirt, but a unisex skirt.
But then I see no reason why men shouldn't wear whatever kind of skirt that fits them and they're comfortable in, if they want to.0 -
Men in kilts are hot, especially if they are completely comfortable in it (awkward men in kilts just look clumsy.)
Men wearing dresses aren't my thing, I don't judge people but I'd rather not see guys in skirts/dresses unless its on Jerry :P0 -
Men wear skirts all over the world.
In India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal they are lungis or dhotis (or a bunch of other names) depending on whether they're long or short. In Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia and much of the Gulf, men wear futa, a wrap around skirt, or the thobe, a long white dress. Men wear sarongs in Indonesia, Somalia, Sri Lanka... In Hawaii, men wear the kikepa.
Obviously, in the UK, men wear kilts - the time they seem to be busted out the most is at heterosexual weddings - so I'm not sure what's 'gay' about it. (By the way, aren't we a little past using 'gay' as an insult???)
Beautifully said!0 -
I love men in skirts or dresses, even.0

Kilts are awesome! There is a group of police officers and firefighters who are wearing them during the month of September to raise awareness for prostate cancer. (Kilted to Kick Cancer) I heard one of them say that it's only a skirt if you wear something under it.0

Kilts or skirts would mean too much wind blowing through the forest. And we all know the wind makes trees grow...
So, I wouldn't be a fan of walking around all the time with an overgrown tree that I need to keep stepping over.0 -
Yea, I like my men to be men...just sayin'.
Skirts........uh.......yeaaaaaaa...........no thanks.
That being said, kilts are obviously not skirts.

aww.. i thought maybe there would be pics of men in sarongs Toa from american gladiators came to mind :bigsmile:0

Kilts are pretty hot on the right guy but some of those skirts are feminine with really feminine fabrics... that's NOT hot. That's just weird. I think there's a substantial difference between a kilt and a skirt.0

we're men, (manly men!), men in tights! we roam around the forest looking for fights!
tiiight tights! --fav movie of ALL TIME.0 -
kilts are sexy and manly...
a dude in red pencil skirt not so much
This lol
Even guys who would not be classed as traditionally good looking can pull off a kilt! No pun intended lol0 -
In kilts OR skirts, confidence is sexy. If it makes someone feel better to wear a specific type of clothing, then they're more confident, & I'm more attracted to them.0

Skirts! Are you kidding me! NO WAY!...0

I do love a nice utilikilt, or a leather one. Friend of mine has a black leather kilt, and it is profoundly hot. I want my boyfriend to get one, but I'm going to have him lose weight first, so like my planned corset, the kilt comes after the weight loss.0

I see nothing to discuss. People can wear what they want.
Why is it okay to say you want your men to be "masculine", and yet you rarely hear guys say that they want their women feminine when they see them wearing jeans instead of skirts/dresses?
Clothes preferences between the genders changes as society changes. I really good care less about what people where or what I wear as long as 1. you're comfortable, 2. you're not trying to be someone/something that you're not, and 3. you're happy.0 -
I just cannot believe the amount of bigots on this website. A man in a "red pencil skirt" (as mentioned in the comments) does not become LESS attractive just because he is in a skirt. A woman in pants does not become less attractive because she is wearing pants instead of a skirt, so why is it okay to be so close-minded towards males in more traditionally feminine clothing?
Every time something like this gets posted I just want to cry for humanity because the comments inevitably show people who still belong in the ages of women being property & gender expression being a very polarized thing.0 -

Don't worry, there is little danger of harming yourself with a bonsai tree. Doubt anyone would be intimidated by a shrub.
