I want to start drinking a shake once or twice a day for a meal and I would like to know what is a good protien powder that you have tried and how well it is working. I'm not doing any strength training at this time so I just need something for strictly a walking routine with some jogging and low in sugar if its possible.

I like Muscle Milk for meal replacement because of the carbs(sugar) you need a protein drink with carbs, protein and fat to be a meal replacement.0

I use Optimum Nutrition Whey Powder. I love it. I strength train but it is also good for non trainers.0

i always liked GNC's whey protein powders...they usually have small packs so you can try the flavors out before plopping down a tone of $ on something you don't enjoy....Trader Joe's will take back all their protein containers if you don't like them - they are great about that-no hassles at all...0

You may have to try a few to find a taste you like enough to tolerate.
Personally, I can't stand any of them and I've tried several different kinds as well as various ideas/methods people use to add it to things like smoothies or oatmeal. I can taste it even in things and I just don't like any brand or any flavor.
You may find they aren't for you but definitely try a few different types!0 -

Casein protein. Hydrolyzed whey protein is meant for rapid absorption into the blood stream. Casein is meant to be digested over six to eight hours. Will keep you full longer and keep your blood sugar for spiking or something.0

I like optimum whey - it has a lot of good flavors - use it in my tea/coffee instead of cream ans make breakfast smoothies with a vegg, protein, frozen fruit and fiberone. I match the flavor of the powder to what add to it.
chia tea + french vanilla
chia tea + pumpkin puree+ banana cream + pumpkin pie spice = pumpkin spice latte
Frozen peaches + vanilla + fiber one + cinnamon
frozen banana + chocolate + PB2
Frozen banana + chocolate + cinnamon + cayenne pepper
apple + baby spinach + oatmeal + cinamon + vanilla
and the list goes on - - -- -0 -
Optimum nutrition whey isolate seems to be most popular. Personally I looked for the least processed/things added to it, without sugar (there is stevia in this one).

For what it's worth,
I get the cheapest one I can find per gram of protein, and I buy mine online. As long as I can drink it without feeling like I'm going to puke, I don't care much about the taste and consistency... but then again, I really dislike the inexpensive meats and beans so all protein powders I've tried have been eons better than beef and pork products (without the added sodium of, say, canned tuna). I also really don't give a damn about my foods being GMO-free (seriously, your body isn't going to tell the difference) or organic (doesn't change anything with my body) or amount of processed/unnatural things in it (again, I've never noticed any change within my body from eating artificial sweeteners- it's just certain (mostly trans) fat that I need to watch for my health).
That said, I use TwinLab 100% Whey. Right now I have a 5 lb tub of Chocolate Surge. I bought it through Vitamin Shoppe. Free shipping and the big tub was $40.99. It averages roughly ~$0.62/serving (scoop or 35 g), with 25 g of protein per serving (so about 2.5 CENTS per gram of protein).0
