i drink soooo much water throughout the day it probably is half my weight lol and i find it keeps me full between meals and also keeps me well hydrated because i exercise as much as possible!0

Half your weight in oz - for me it boils down to about 2.5 liters - it helps with the mindless knoshing and you get the extra steps as you run to the loo!0
-
pffft nah...I wish...perhaps one day out of the year I do0
-
i generally do. bob harper from the biggest loser says you should and i think you really can't go wrong listening to his advice. good luck!0
-
That's what I aim for. Usually wind up 1 or 2 glasses shy.0
-
I typically do. I do it because I like ice water and it keeps me from mindlessly snacking on junk. It also helps keep my water weight down which means that my blood pressure stays controlled without meds.0

I do abide by the '1/2 your weight in ounces of water' rule and I honestly feel so much healthier doing it. Plus it keeps me from drinking high calorie drinks. It's worked so far0

TRUTH! :drinker:0 -
i drink a lot more than that.0

I try to do this. I have been told by a couple of my doctors to do this, but then my PCP tells me it is not necessary to drink that much. With my weight, I should be drinking 16 (plus a little more) glasses a day. I have been either over or pretty darn close every day for the last week or so. I have to say something is helping, because I am still losing weight and haven't necessarily been eating the right things everyday. Just make sure NOT to drink so much that you cause other medical issues by flushing out too much nutrients. Good luck with your journey.0

If I drank 120lbs of water, I think I would die.0 -
I stopped drinking anything but water and I feel a 100% better. And now my weight is starting to come off again.0
-
yeah i think typically drink even more than that. at least 12 glasses of regular water but i also drink a crap load of tea that i dont really keep track of0

It should be half you weight in ounces of water a day (not pounds). Example: if you weigh 200 pounds to drink 100 ounces of water.0

Why? Unless you're a manual laborer/athlete working in the sun.0 -
I drink more than half my weight. 10-12 cups per day.0
-
Keep in mind that you also get water from foods you eat. I do worry about over-hydrating...anyone else?0
-
Nope I have a hard time drinking the 64 ounces:smooched:0

I just started and oh my, I feel like I am foating but the scales have been moving down! When I weigh less I can drink less, and I am looking forward to it!0
-
Thats absolutely right!! The less you weigh, the less you drink. I never thought of it like that!!I just started and oh my, I feel like I am foating but the scales have been moving down! When I weigh less I can drink less, and I am looking forward to it!0

I do. I don't feel well if I don't drink enough water.0
-
Does that mean I have to drink i have to drink about a gallon of water? That is a lot!!!!!0
-
Holy Moly if I do that I will be drinking 23 cups of water...I can barely down 8 cups smh....0
-
You take what you weigh, divide by 2, change that # to ounces, and thats half your weight in water!! For example..I weigh 221...(BLAH)...Divide that by 2 I get 110.5 110.5/8 equals 13 and a half cups of water I drink to equal half my body weight!Does that mean I have to drink i have to drink about a gallon of water? That is a lot!!!!!0

1/2 your weight in water? I don't think so!
A person weighing 140 lbs would have to drink 70 lbs of water or 8.4 gallons a day!
(1 gallon of water weighs 8.34 pounds)
1/2 your weights in ounces of water makes a little more sense - that same 140lb person would be drinking 70 oz and that just under 1/2 gallon.0 -
Yes I do but I generally do not like water. What I did was fill a measuring cup with water and poured it in a glass and drank the whole glass counting the "gulps" until it was finished. For me it was 6 gulps. EVERY time I drink water, I drink 6 gulps, whether from a bottle, glass, fountain, etc. I mark down with hash marks on my food log water and try to get at least half my body weight in ounces...many times over that amount. And yes, I urinate more frequently...water in = water out (minus what is used for metabolism) lol.0

I average around 16 cups of water a day. Helps flush out that nasty sodium.0
-
That would be 46 water bottles...when would I be hungry?0
