So annoyed and frustrated

I had my baby 2 months ago. At 4 wks I was cleared for light exercise so I began short walks around the neighborhood and 15 mins on the ellipitcal. At 6 weeks I was fully cleared to resume my regular routine.

I am counting calories, I dont eat/drink much sugar (besides whatever is found naturally in fruits and whatnot). Ive reduced my carbs. I am back to working out 60-90 mins a day, burning between 350-500 calories a day depending on what I have done. I have been doing the elliptical every day for 45 mins on Mon/Wed/Fri and 25 mins on Tues/Thurs/Sat which are the days that I also do one of the P90X workouts.

I am very diligent, I do NOT cheat. I am very meticulous in the calorie counting and the working out. But gosh darn it, the inches are NOT coming off. Like at all. Im back to my pre pregnancy weight but my body needs to be toned and I am NOT seeing ANY kind of results at all! I am so damn frustrated.

I work in the entertainment industry, my physical appearance is how I earn a living. I am going back to work in 3 weeks. I NEED to get my body back dammit.

Any tips on how to jump start the progress?

Maybe assess if the exercises you are doing are really meant to tone, or if they are just bulking up the muscle tissue.
Also - maybe review the foods you are eating. Foods digest differently for everyone and perhaps the foods you are eating are playing a factor. I know you are eating less carbs and cut back on sugar.

Unfortunately, I'd consult a nutritionist or/and a physical trainer because from what you are saying - I'm lost as to why you are gaining versus losing..and not just weight - but inches as well.

Sometimes after pregnancy your body does not return to its original shape.
If you're back at your pre-pregnancy weight. You might have something like that going on.
Or your body is just taking its own time to return to its pre shape.
How many calories a day are you eating?
Keep working out. You may need to step up your training.
Good Luck and congratulations on your new baby!

Maybe you're not eating enough. Are you breastfeeding? How many calories are you eating and what percentage is carbs/protein/fat?

I know you are getting some great cardio in...but, maybe you should find exercises that focus on toning. You are doing P90X. I'm not all that familiar with it but I know it builds great muscle and helps burn fat. I've had a few friends do it with lots of success - but I believe it took 60 days before the results really started to show in regards to that muscle definition. I am starting Beachbody's Slim in 6 that I think focuses a lot more on toning. You could try that instead or find exercises to add to your routine that tones the specific parts of your body that you need toned.
  • crystal meth...just kidding. start slow take consistant steps and be patient is the best advise that works for me. jump start always means a crash later.
  • This is my second baby and my body bounced back immediately after. I gained the same amount of weight with this pregnancy as I did with my other pregnancy. The weight came off, but my body is not as defined as before. I am not breastfeeding. I am eating until I feel full but keeping track of calories.
  • The breastfeeding thing could definitely be a factor. My friend just had her second, she's in her 30s, didn't breastfeed with number 1, but she IS breastfeeding now... and damn, that little guy is just sucking the inches off of her. She's smaller than she's ever been in the 10 years I've known her. Do some research and give it some thought?

Oh, I see it's your second baby. Well, I hate to say it, but the more babies, the more abuse the body takes. You are older than last time too. It will come though. Keep on.

Took me longer to lose the weight after my second kid. I was lower than pre-pregnancy weight by 8 weeks. I didn't get back to my pre-pregnancy weight until about 9 months with my second.
