Need a haircut - suggestions?

Hi,

I apologise for the severely off topic (with this website) question.
I have extremely straight hair and they are rather thin. They are so straight, the one and only time I did a perm, it lasted 5 days and my hair dresser said "If you ever ask me for curly hair, I'll quit my job".

I have short hair and I right now I have a bob, with longer hair on the front and shorter hair at the back. But I am tired of "ye olde bob", as I call it.
Kind of like this:

Do you have any suggestion at all? I have no problem going really short, I don't care, just keep on mind that any kind of curl won't hold at all. And I have a very high forehead (like Italian renaissance painting high), so I need bangs to balance it out.

Thank you.

    Pixie cut? :)

I am not sure... I am 33 years old, I am afraid I am too old to pull it off.

ETA: I am 33 years old, not 3. XD

    Pixie cut? :)

I am not sure... I am 3 years old, I am afraid I am too old to pull it off.

It's all about confidence. Jamie Lee Curtis has a pixie cut and she's 53. :)

True, but she's also really beautiful. Her bone structure is amazing.
But hey, I wonder if I could pull off something like this:

how about a tech n wave?
its not a full on perm but it give volume and shape to the hair.
not all salons do this but it is very effective.

I agree with OP - a picture might help with suggestions. You might have a round face, oval face, long face etc. Not all haircuts suit everyone (obviously)

you have a nice face!! think you should go for something that shows more of your lovely face, shorter at the sides that will 'open' up your face and show off your cheekbones...google haircuts and pick a few that you like and think you'd suit then post them here or take to your hairdresser, they will advise you!

ps maybe think about growing out your fringe/bangs a little? but for now I do think you would suit a pixie cut..even think about some subtle highlights those would really add to the hair cut, some nice choppy layers even...I'm full of suggestions LOL

The pic you posted of the haircut you are looking at is very similiar to the haircut you have now, so you might not see much difference....

I would take your back up shorter, leave the length of your front, and than have your stylist razor cut in layers to make it piecey and choppy...

Wow, guys, you are all very nice ! Thank you for the comments and for the suggestions. :)
I like the idea of choppy layers and maybe some highlights - Just don't want to go too light with those as I have dark eyebrows and I don't like it if the tones are too different.
(I have fairly light hair and dark eyebrows, so I must make my hair darker to match my eyebrows) - also, I prefer darker hair).

See my new profile photo. I just got this done yesterday. I have an A-line so one side is longer than the other. I also now have thicker bangs and highlights to enhance.

Thank you! That's a nice haircut! I am just a bit worried that my hair, being as flat and straight as they are, will fall down in a limp mop after day 2 of the haircut.

Your new hair cut is amazing, you look great! And I love the highlights. :)
My hair part in the middle naturally. Even my bangs try to part in the middle - I am a natural hippy XD

I think you could pull off a pixie cut! Also, the great thing about short (like super short) hair is it appears to grow faster so if you don't like it within a few haircuts you can find the perfect length for you. I've actually done this, I went from fairly long to pretty dang short which was a breeze to style but I decided I didn't like it and I've slowly grown out to my current length (about as long as the front of your bob) which I love!

Do it!! Pixie!! You have the cutest face for one too ^_^ If you turn out not to like it, it will grow back out relatively fast and there are many fun ways to style growing out pixies. I am shooting for one once I reach a goal weight.

I'm 32 and have a pixie! I keep my bangs a bit longer in the front to cover my forehead. Go for it!!

Thank you all for the suggestions! Pixie cut - it is! Unless my hair stylist says it won't work with my kind of hair (because they are so straight they tend to look flat). But even in that case, I'll ask for something similar to a pixie that would work for me.
