    most unique:

    Helado-de-Aguacate02.jpg
and yes u are right, avocado ice cream... I had a bit of it in México, in a place called ´Tepoznieves´, and its actually pretty good. They also sell carrot ice cream, tequila, rose petals, rice.. mmmmmm
  • Not so much a unique flavour, but I LOVED Spaghetti Eis in germany. whipped cream and spaghetti strands of ice cream with strawberry topping...looks just like a plate of pasta. Kind of bizarre convincing your brain and tastebuds to get on the same page at first lol. But yummy yummy.

My latest obsession is ben and jerry's strawberry cheesecake. Havent had any since joining MFP though :(

The world heavyweight champ of ice creams is 'cereal milk' ice cream from New York City. It's so good, it just smashed all your other ice creams in the face and is standing over them in victory. I know... it's attitude sucks... it's the most arrogant of the ice cream family. ><

The most unique ice cream is peppercorn. I saw it in Florida and thought awww I bet this is tasty and funky. No.... it really is just pepper in ice cream. Totally gross.

    I ate it all though.
  • Best: tied between fig and mascarpone and black sesame
Most unique: parmesan. It was served with steak tartare.

No specific brand but a friend of mine has his own ice cream parlor and he makes the best ice cream in the world. The other day he made pink almond flower ice cream which tasted like marzipan with crunchy bit in it. Amazing!

Ooooh, I love different flavours of ice cream!

Here in Ireland I have have tried Guinness ice-cream - surprisingly good, that malty taste works well.

In Paris, there's a fabulous ice cream parlour on the Ille St Louis, called Berthillon, where I've have gingerbread flavour, and licorice flavour - both just divine.

And Provence in the south of France is famous for its lavender, so I've tried lavender flaovoured glace there.

One which didnt really work for me was parmesan flavour, which I had at Smiths Hotel, Gretna Green, after my wedding.
  • Mammoth peanut butter is my absolute favourite!!

Best ice cream: hazelnut. Just hazelnut, not hazelnut and chocolate. Had it in France and it was wonderful.

Most unique: Guinness ice cream. My boyfriend at the time was friends with some guys who ran an ice cream shop and that was one of their experimental flavors. Personally, I think a glass of Guinness with a glazed doughnut (or a brownie in a pinch) is much better.

My favorite is a three way tie - oreo, hazelnut, and caramel cream gelato.

Not to adventurous when it comes to my ice cream.

I don't know how unique it was... but Coldstone Creamery's Chocolate Rum... Omg! was it so good. I wish I could find it again because I haven't seen it since that one time I had it.

Or maybe it was Marble Slab... it was one of those two places.
  • I really want some good ice cream!

My absolute favorite is Breyer's rocky road, followed by Breyer's mint chocolate chip, with Blue Bell's Dutch chocolate coming in at a close third place.

I would have to say the most unique ice creams that I have had is probably sundae's that I've made myself or at an ice cream bar. I have had a couple of different Ben and Jerry's flavors too, but I can't think of any of their names right now. It could be said simply though, that Ben and Jerry's brand has the most unique ice cream when competing with national ice cream brands only.

seriously though, I like Bluebell's Cotton Candy for both answers.

Every time I go to eat ice cream I thank God I'm in Texas... I can't imagine ice cream without Bluebell.

*singing* Blue Bell is the best tasting ice creeeeeam, in the country!

(But I do prefer Breyer's rocky road!)

I can't find anyone that carries it anymore, but Ben and Jerry's Monkey Wrench...it was a twist on Chunky Monkey. Consisted of:
    Banana ice cream
    Peanut butter ribbons
    Chocolate chips
    Walnuts
    Peanut Butter Cups.

    I'm such a fat kid.

Oh and a local place back home makes black licorice ice cream and maple walnut ice cream that I LOVE

Don't these ice creams have like 2,000 calories a serving? How do they fit into the meal plan? I'd love to eat Ben and Jerry's, but I know I'd be tempted to eat the whole container!
