Lose energy quickly - Low cal snacks?

So I eat pretty well, I could probably eat more protein as I know that would help sustain energy levels for longer, but at the moment I'm just not organised enough to cook ahead for the week of lunches. I find with my job I'm constantly standing and walking/rushing around (retail consultant in a busy boutique) for around 9 hours a day. I generally eat a few bits of sushi for lunch and drink lots of water throughout the day.

Anyway, after lunch, and before lunch, my energy levels slump MASSIVELY. I get tired and a bit dizzy, and find I need to eat something. I've tried vegetables and fruit but they don't seem to work.. quickly anyway. Obviously I can't go and sit down and have a meal of something, I need something I can take a few bites of then go back for a few more in between clients etc.

Does anyone else have similar problems? Or any suggestions?

Thank you,

xx

I'd try pairing your fruit and veges with something. Like fruit and yoghurt or veges and hummus to increase energy.

Or how about a dried fruit and nut energy mix? They can be high calorie depending on how many you chow down on but great source of energy - I'd recommend measuring them out before hand. Or maybe rice/corn cakes/crackers and hummus.

If you have time, you could make a smoothie and sip on it over a period of time as well, this might help maintain your energy levels.

    I hope that helps

Having some healthy fats with your food/snacks really helps. So try having a couple of nuts with your snack, or some avocado with your lunch.

What are you having for breakfast? Oatmeal (or my favourite, overnight oats) is great for low release energy so it keeps you full longer.
