I used to love rootbeer oreo shakes from the Iceberg in Utah growing up. Sounds like a nasty combo, but I loved it. My favorite hands down is Ameri-Cone Dream (Ben and Jerry's), but I also couldn't eat enough of Trader Joe's vanilla with Trader Joe's caramel sauce. Both are worth every calorie. I am also a huge fan of Walgreen's mint chip and cookies and cream . . . cheep, but taste great.

Fireweed and honey from a little Ma and Pop homemade ice cream stand at the base of a trail head.

I knew you must be from Alaska when you posted this. I grew up in Anchorage, but I've never had fireweed ice cream. How was it?

Weirdest I've had was Ben and Jerrys "Late night snack", it's a vanilla ice cream base with caramel swirls and chocolate-covered potato chip clusters. It has that salty sweet taste I really like and it was actually really good.

ETA: I also had Guinness ice cream at a little Irish pub in Austin, TX which was really good.

i've had Lavender gelato at Famoso. it was pretty interesting.

my favorite is birthday cake from Marble Slab...without added toppings.

haagen daaz peanut butter chocolate is unbelievable as well and at 380 calories for 1/2 a cup it's so low calorie.

There's an ice cream shop here in CT that sells Guinness ice cream. It's pretty good.

I actually prefer floats made with Guinness or oatmeal stout and a good vanilla ice cream though!

The 'Three Twins' brand ice cream is really good. They have a 'Cardamom' flavor which isn't too bad. I've tried 'Rose' flavored ice cream at an ice cream shop, and it's 'Rose' like in the flower. I didn't like it at all!

It's not unique but when I was a kid I loved chocolate marchmallow. You could buy it in those big gallon pails. As an adult I could never find it anywhere. And now I'm allergic so it doesn't matter :frown:

  • Raspberry Pistachio Cheesecake... A friend of mine used to experiment with different flavors when I was younger, and she made this and I must say, it was the BEST!!! Definitely something to try if I ever saw it again...

Another one I love is Banana Pudding ice cream... I got it at Food Lion, and I think it was their brand, but may have been another off-brand.

    I couldn't pick just one! Sadly, I've never met an ice-cream I didn't like!

The most unique was wasabi - surprisingly good!

Three other unique flavour scoops were whiskey, oatmeal and grape-nuts.

Our local dairy - Toft's Dairy - in Sandusky, OH makes killer seasonal flavors. The latest (and greatest) is Pumpkin Pie Ala Mode Ice Cream - and it is DELICOUS!

Think the weirdest I've had was a coffee flavored frozen yogurt. It tasted like black coffee, not sweet or creamy, just... wasn't my thing. it was extremely strong too.

best: Blue Bunny, Chocolate Lovers Triple Chocolate Cake. It has cake pieces and frosting embedded in the ice cream. It's ridiculous. It's the only ice cream I just cannot handle myself around, if I have some in the house, I will be obsessed until it's gone. It's like, kryptonite good.

a close second: Blue Bunny, I do, I do Wedding cake flavor. Frosting flavored ice cream with white cake pieces and raspberry cake filling swirl. Also effin' delicious, I can barely contain myself, but I can resist.

Weirdest? Nah, I don't try weird ice cream. I think I had some green tea flavor once......meh. Until I found Blue Bunny, I didn't even like ice cream all that much, I went more for cheesecake/caramel/peanut buttery type desserts.
  • Ok I know it says you are to have tried it and no idea after all these threads if anyone has mentioned the Breast Milk Icecream that was avail here in the Uk called.....Baby Gaga

I can't pick just one, so how 'bout categories?

Best ever is my mom's homemade peach ice cream, made with Texas peaches from Limestone County. Mmm … My homemade buttermilk ice cream is good, too.

Growing up, my favorite ice cream parlor flavors were Swensen's Swiss Orange Chip and Baskin Robbins' Daiquiri Ice.

Favorite packaged brand is Blue Bell -- I haven't had a bad flavor. Currently, I have Southern Peach Cobbler in the freezer.

Oddest has to be the BBQ that I tried at Amy's (Austin, Tx) -- not bad. (Also never had a bad flavor at Amy's.) At Central Market's Hatch Chile Festival, I had pineapple-hatch gelato. Light and refreshing, but with a kick.

Chocolate Secrets in Dallas makes a good dark chocolate ice cream, and if you ask the server, she'll sprinkle a little sea salt on it. Yum!

    Now I'm hungry …
