My Doctor put me on a 125 gram a day carb restriction. With My Fitness Pal and doing what the doctor ordered I lost 21 lbs. in two weeks. Now I am at a stale mate and would like to know if anyone out there has good low carb recipes. I'm running out of ideas and eating is getting harder and harder watching my carbs...... Any help will be appareciated. If you want you can add me as a friend. I am a 50 year old male happily married. I just want to be around for her and my grand kids.................

Could you set your diary to public so that we can see what you're currently eating?

I aim for around 100g carbs a day. Breakfast will be usually eggs, sometimes cottage cheese, or smoked fish. Lunch is a homemade vegetable and bean stew, or a salad with protein (cheese or chicken). Dinner will be protein (meat, fish) with more veg. Very little rice, potato or pasta. Bread once or twice a week. Snacks are fruit and cheese and nuts.

You're doing really well at keeping your carbs under 100g, that's brilliant!

Some of my favourites are salmon with brocoli, stirfry prawn and veg (no or very few noodles), lamb and haloumi kebabs with tomato salad, omelette, steak with garlic mushrooms.

Pumpkin Protein Pancakes. This is one of my favorites, especially for fall! You can also bake them into muffins in advance for an on-the-go breakfast.

    1/4 C Egg Whites (or 1 egg)
    1 Scoop Vanilla Protein Powder
2 TBSP Vanilla Almond Milk or Skim Milk
    1 TSP Cinnamon
    1 TBSP Ground Flaxseed
    3 TBSP pumpkin
Handful of fresh or frozen Blueberries

Heat skillet over medium with a little bit of cooking spray in it. Mix everything together and pour in skillet. Cook one side until you see little bubbles, then flip and cook the other. Top with two sliced strawberries and powdered Stevia (both optional).

    180 calories/4g fat/32g protein

    Happy cooking!
    Kat

    http://www.skinnytaste.com/

Above is my favorite website for skinny meals- that do not taste like crap diet food. lol I have made so many of her meals over the last year. It's been such a great help.

On the right side of the webpage you will see labels - there is a low carb one! There are tons of others, too!

The Zucchini Lasagna is a favorite! Below is the exact link to the recipe. It's 16g carbs for the dinner portion. :))))

I think that is going to be my issue too! I just started on here and am watching my carbs since I really don't mind skipping bread, pasta and rice. The biggies for me are milk and beer... I'm going to add you so that I can get low carb motivation and maybe give some! :)

And I hear you on the beer... I've put my homebrew endeavors on hold for the time being. So many yummy craft brews in Louisiana, too! That's the hardest part!
