Does anyone ever get this remark from people after having lost a bunch of weight? I've lost 65 pounds and I feel great now! But sometimes I will pull out pictures and get that remark from people. "Oh my gosh, look how big you were!" My favorite one was "When I first met you, your stomach was SO BIG!"
Really? That does NOT make me feel better! I know people are just trying to compliment me and it shouldn't hurt my feelings, but it still does.

I had this at the store the other day, I was in the check out and the lady running the register who I did not recognize, but her name tag stated she's been there for years says to me "Wow, you've lost weight" and although at first I thought "Gee, thanks" after I got to the car I thought "My God was I so fat, even the check out lady couldn't help but notice?"
I know I should take it as a compliment also but it hurt me the same way!0 -
After cheerleading season ended, I gained a few pounds and when my sister came home from vacation and I had just gotten home from college, first thing she said, "You're fat now!"
Well, nice to see you too.0 -
Fortunately for me I guess... I'm the only one saying things that negative. Mostly the comments from old "fat" pictures is more along the lines of "wow, you've worked your butt off... literally" or something like "wow, I didn't realize how much of a transformation it has been for you". I'm usually the only one saying "dang, look how fat and discusting I was..." ....
I'd be pretty peeved if someone were saying things like that too... like, wow... good to know you thought I was hideous, lol...
Well, I don't know you.. but you are beautiful, and I'm sure you were beautiful when you were heavier, but confidence looks SO GOOD on people! Way to go0 -

Wow! That's so rude! I wouldn't even know what to say to that!0 -

Yep, I get those kinds of comments too. It's nice to hear about the work I've done, and I usually say "Look how gross I was." or something along those lines. I really do understand that people are just trying to be nice, but sometimes I'm just like "Okay! I get it!" LOL
And thank you I agree that confidence makes a HUGE difference. Confidence looks good on everyone!0 -
Congrats on the weight loss! You should speak up... No reason not to. Just put it out there that you don't want to be reminded of the old you.0
