There are plenty of good road rides where I live, but there are a couple of intertwined routes I prefer. They are on mostly rural roads, so not much traffic there. There are a couple of convenience stores along the way, if you need an extra Gatorade, or if you need to use the facilities. In between, there are canopy roads, houses out in the country with some enthusiastic (fenced in) dogs, some horse and cows, and hills. Not huge hills. Just rolling hills. The kind where you are winded at the top, but can catch your breath on the way down in preparation for the next hill. You'll see cars along the way, and you'll encounter other cyclists looking for their own peace and quiet.0

Maybe. Ya never can tell!0 -
2 Rivers on 2 Wheels in Logansport Indiana. It has passed for this year last Saturday in fact. Logansport is where the Eel and Wabash Rivers come together. The ride starts by riding north along the Eel then loops around and catches the Wabash. Very sceneic and great sag stops, All the healthy stuff plus pizza, and Ice cream. Ends with free lunch at the Arts Festival. They have facebook page.

My latest route is perfect. It's a 20 mile route which takes just over the hour (I ride a hybrid)
5 miles in there is a HUGE hill climb - 1 in 10 but seems to last forever! As a newcomer I challenged myself to make the climb without stopping and I can make it now
My wife has just strated joinging me now though and she is also up for the challenge - day one was Saturday and she made halfway on her new bike. She'll make the hill I'm sure within the month0 -

That sounds like a great ride. Is it doable without support as in - is there food and water available along the course?0 -

No steady on
I say 20 miles - it's actually 19.3 - Hey come on, that's virtually 20!!
I say just over the hour, it's 1:08 - but I will be doing it within an hour soon!
And yes there is a 1 mile 1 in 10 hill to climb - but the route is circular so there's also a 2 mile descent down a similar hill
My spreadsheet says 17.03 mph average - not bad - but not hero status yet
I WILL get there though! (just bought SPD pedals!)0
