I don't agree with the beer and burgers as being something you should "obviously avoid". It certainly depends on the quality and quantity of those foods.
Obvious foods to avoid are Fast Food and processed foods containing hydrogenated fats.0 -

I'd say the obvious ones to avoid are the ones you have a hard time eating in moderation. So it's different for everyone. I can't have cheese in the house because I always eat too much.0

The only things on your list I avoid are the beer and sodas. But that's because I don't drink alcohol at all and haven't had more than a half dozen sodas a year for about six years now.
The other foods I avoid are:
Raw celery, it's disgusting
Coffee, bitter, dirty water to me
Blue cheese, just too slimy and gross tasting
I'm eat pretty much everything else, even other foods I'm not fond of I can typically eat when they are part of a meal, I just do it in moderation now.0 -
Coconut crusted monkfish with mango salsa0

^^This. For me it's pizza. Greasy cheesy pizza. So I keep frozen Newman's Own or California Pizza Kitchen thin crust pizzas in the house for when I'm considering ordering something nasty.0 -
Both beer and burgers contain a ton of calories and the burgers have a ton of fat and limited nutrients as well. I say definitely on the avoid list. Also anything processed is not optimal for good health or weight loss. I stick with whole foods, as close to they come from the ground is the BEST for optimal health and weight management0

Pulp... It's like effing shrimp swimming in your mouth.
Other than that, we're good.
Well... maybe head cheese. That *kitten* be nasty.0 -

agreed..just don't eat those things all the time and in large quantities. A little bit occasionally is ok!0 -
Something I've found to try to avoid is things that are "Diet" foods....things that are "low fat" or "fat free" or even things labeled "low carb"..........basically anything that is marketed to dieters. When you read the labels, they are usually higher in calories and not really significantly different than their "normal" counterparts. And they usually have more of those unpronounceable chemicals and junk. I think most "diet" foods seem to be a big scam since most of them cost more, too.0

Who the fck likes pulp?0 -
One tip ive found to work for me is checking a menu before going out to dinner. Something as simple as a pasta dish can end up having 1000+ calories just for that portion of the dish! it can ruin good progress. Dave and busters has a dish that has 2700 calories in it.... cmon that shouldnt even exist.0
