Great! Finally a cookie recipe with not to much sugar and no fake food (aka splenda etc.)!! Thanks also VERY MUCH for the adress http://recipes.sparkpeople.com/recipe-calculator.asp :flowerforyou: This will save me TONS of time! I'm always "renovating" my recipes and I hate to calculate everything, so I end up guessing the number of calories:embarassed: ...
Feel free to post anything else0 -
I just tried your recipe with what I had on hand... I substituted what I don't have yet in my pantry; here goes:
3 bananas
1/3 cup crushed apple
1cup All Bran original cereal
1cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup 1% milk
1/2 cup unsalted cashews. chopped
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1tbsp maple syrup
I made 23 cookies (each a little smaller than a golf ball). They sure smell good... they are not very sweet, but I like them. If I feel like indulging, I can always spread Nutella on them
For those interested, I posted the calories in the database under "cashew breakfast cookie"0 -

Oh, cashews, interesting. I think I'd try pistachios when I can get my hands on some unsalted ones. Heard they have a lot of antioxidants or something. :happy:0 -
Right; your recipe is very versatile... I've been waiting a long time for a cookie like that! All the guilt free recipes are usually full of splenda or aspartame, and I don't like to feed that to my kids. I plan on trying it also with pumpkin seeds, or sunflower seeds; pistachios sound yummy too. I don't like raisins, but maybe semi-sweet chocolate chips I'd like to find dried berries to put in there. My kids (17 months and 4 years old) love them; even though there's only 1 tbsp of sugar in it haha! That's all that is needed really, because if you use extra ripe bananas, it makes them sweeter. Next grocery, I'll buy some oats to throw in there also. Thanks again :flowerforyou: !0

I am going to make those for my 2 1/2 yr old who eats NOTHING!!! Thanks! Hopefully she'll eat these!0

It's a good way to sneak in fruits ! Next time, I think I'll use frozen blueberries instead of dried: my 4y old daughter said the blueberries were hard... But she munched 2 cookies none the less  And my baby boy (18mths) ate two also for dessert!0

mmmmmm, what a great idea to eat your oats in the AM!0
